Summary: A masterpiece via voice and sight.
Review: "Cabrini-Green" takes you from the comfort of your chair and puts you in notably the worst housing projects in America, Chicago's Cabrini Green housing development. It describes the vivid and promising past, the failure and corruption that led to it's downfall, and it's future as part of Chicago's urban renaissance. David Whitaker puts multiple interviews with life-long residence, ranging from the elderly to school children. The pictures are breathtaking, consisting of stunning black-and-whites on almost every page, illustrating the humble beginnings, the tenants, and the current demolition of the high rise projects. This book is a must have for any person interested in a less documented part of Chicago's gritty history. But a word of warning, people looking for a more fact based view on the topic shouldn't read this book, it is a compilation of personal accounts, and is very biased.

Summary: Great read.
Review: This is a great book. I love the perspective. For once, it's coming from someone other than a narrator. It really makes you look at the destruction and chaos in a new light. I live in Chicago, so it really hits home to me as well.

I really liked it. Easy reading too. Great pictures!
