Rating: Summary: A good story badly told Review: Pozner was a prominent journalist at the time of the coup that ousted Gorbachev and he gives a good account of the events of those days on the barricades, but he has a tendency to engage in far too many flashbacks and always at the most inoportune moments. If he had stuck with a linear narrative, and left out about half of the tongue twisting names (you'll need an Excel spreadsheet to keep all the minor players straight), it could have been an excellent book.
