Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Definitely a five-star read! Review: If you have any interest in US history, this is a must read. It is captivating, stimulating, and the evidence supports the claims. Re-writing history is not an easy thing in this politically correct world with all its liberal bias; Mr. Hydrick not only has the courage to do what is right, he is driven by it. Excellent work.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: All History is Not in The Textbooks Review: The book is not only an informative adjunct to conventional history, it is an exciting story. The author keeps your interest every step of the way, as he unfolds an intensively documented revelation of a heretofore untold chapter in World War II history. He tells us how the Germans developed the atomic bomb; traces our own efforts to build such a weapon; and keeps the timelines together. As something of a historical heresy, Mr. Hydrick points out that we did not independently develop the bombs that were dropped on Japan, and thoroughly documents that as a fact, not a writer's theory. We also learn fascinating facts about the human characteristics of some of the major players. I heartily recommend CRITICAL MASS to anyone interested in history and possessed of the ability to question what "everybody knows".
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Critical Mass Review: This book is both an exciting story of WW2 and an informative additition to the traditionl understanding of the United States' participation in the war. The fact that the outcome of the war hinged so delicately on who controlled the atomic age brings chills when I think of the possibility that Germany could have either completed the bomb or delivered it to Japan for their use. A must read book.
