This book is well written and extremely interesting. It contains 14 chapters divided into 3 part: The Military Organization, Food and Equipment, and Campaigning and Fighting. The author goes into great detail with every subject in the book. Coco uses quotes and first-hand accounts written by the soldiers themselves to help give the reader an insight into the feelings and attitudes of the infantryman. It is a must for anyone interested in the Civil War or military history in general. This reviewer highly recommends The Civil War Infantryman.
