Summary: This book is well written and extremely interesting.
Review: Michael McDonald, Downingtown Senior High Book Review: The Civil War Infantryman.

The Civil War Infantryman, a fascinating book on the uniforms, equipment, and experiences of the infantry soldier during the American Civil War, by Gregory A. Coco. This book is well written and extremely interesting. It contains 14 chapters divided into 3 part: The Military Organization, Food and Equipment, and Campaigning and Fighting. The author goes into great detail with every subject in the book. Coco uses quotes and first-hand accounts written by the soldiers themselves to help give the reader an insight into the feelings and attitudes of the infantryman. It is a must for anyone interested in the Civil War or military history in general. This reviewer highly recommends The Civil War Infantryman.

Summary: We may never know what it was like to be there, but this book sure draws the reader nearer.
Review: Mr. Coco combines his affinity for human interest stories and the common soldier with a descriptive writing style that helped this enthusiast move from troop movements and second-guessing to understanding the harsh realities faced by the infantryman
