From his childhood in Tibet to life in excile in India. his words are full of hope even when you'd think he'd be angry or down. His spirt is a testment to his faith and the pure virtures of Buddhism.

Summary: Lovely Book
Review: This was my first book on the Dalai Lama. What an eye opener. I can't imagine everything he has gone through and he still carrys his people forward as best he can. A truly remarkable man. The book was fascinating from beginning to the end and left me wanting to know more. Everything from how he was discovered to fleeing to India...a life, I can not, imagine.

Another book to stay on my shelf.

Review: This was the first book I had ever read by (or about) the Dalai Lama. I thought it was a great introduction to his life and his way of thinking. Overall I thought this was a great book. I think everyone should read it.
