Rating: Summary: The best for military family finances! Review: This book is absolutely amazing for any military family who is trying to find ways of coping with a spouse that's gone, OR trying to get their finances in order. I personally picked this book up when my husband went to boot camp, and it really helped me get over my fears, and take charge of my money.Ellie Kay is an amazing author with a wonderful sense of humor who keeps her writing fast paced, yet slow enough for the not-so-swift to understand. I recommend her to anyone who wants a better grip on their finances, yet doesn't know where to start.

Rating: Summary: A Great Guide for the Military Family Review: This book is hard to put down and filled with funny, true stories of the military family. Would be a great present to a new military spouse or any military family. It validates that the military life is what you make of it and gives encouragement when given lemons. I highly recommend this book to anybody currently serving in the armed forces or anybody associated with the military community.
Rating: Summary: Essential Reading for Everyone Review: This book was a wake up call for me. Most of us have little or no concept what our country's warriors have to face. With our country in a continual war against terrorism we civilians have little appreciation for the sacrifices our soldiers must make. But little did I realize were the hidden heroes our soldiers must leave behind...their families. The recent Mel Gibson movie "We Were Once Soldiers" gave a vivid visual representation of the military family. But Ellie Kay's book gives us an even fuller picture of the day to day routine they must face. Chock full of helpful advice for the military family, it also provides the information I needed to help my friends who are currently serving. An additional benefit is the information I can use with my own family when I travel for business. Simple and yet profound ideas we will implement on my next trip. Thank you Ellie Kay for writing a great book!
Rating: Summary: Good, but not extremely informative. Review: This book was good and a fast read, however it was very biblically based and had many religious references. It didn't take away from the book, but is something for potential readers to be aware of. It is definitely a book to put your mind at ease if you're currently struggling with military life. It very much normalizes the thoughts and feelings military wives have, showing you you're not alone and can face what the military sends your way. If you're a new military wife looking for a lot information I'd recommend Today's Military Wife by Lydia Sloan Kline instead.

Rating: Summary: Practical and Humorous Review: This book will appeal not only to military dependents, but to anyone who loves America. This book is full of practical tips on how to help support our military members and dependents and humorous anecdotes from the author's own life. It is easy to read and hard to put down!
Rating: Summary: Homefront Battles Review: This should be required reading for every American citizen. Each and every day our lives are protected by those in uniform and the families who stand with them. It would seem that at the very least, it should be our duty to understand the cost of that commitment on our behalf and how we can assist them. Author Ellie Kay, fighter pilot wife and mother of five, takes the reader on a tour of her base of operations, the family, for a humorous and insightful look at all of America's Heroes at Home.
Rating: Summary: Great gift idea Review: Two of my three sons have friends entering the military right now. One will be commissioned in December after being in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A & M. The other is entering the Marines with a wife and child. I was so excited to find a gift idea that will help them adjust to military life wherever they go. From unpacking the first box to attending the first social, the new military family will be better prepared for the challenges of serving our country. Another great gift idea--to the parent and extended family of a new military family. Thanks, Ellie for sharing!!
Rating: Summary: Necessary...and just in time Review: What a magnificent concept for a book! As a former military brat, a retired military wife, and now a military mom, I cannot think of anything (except Christ) our military families need more than to know how to survive financially and emotionally with their service member gone. Thank you for writing such a wonderful book that has such a timely message. I am going to purchase one for my son's fiance so that she can get her mind set on what is to come. I praise God for your ministry and will add your husband to our "soldier-specific" prayer list.
