Review: Years ago, I bought both D-Day volumes separately. It is great to see that they are now offered as a box set. Not only is there a significant savings in buying the box set, it also allows you to obtain both books at the same time.

D-DAY: THEN AND NOW upholds the tradition of the After the Battle THEN AND NOW series. The photo analysis and comparision with contemporary views are fantastic. Each photo, or series of photos, includes detailed captions.

If Cornelius Ryan's THE LONGEST DAY is already in your collection, this set of comprehensive battlefield studies should be your second purchase. I only wish these volumes had been available when I toured the Normandy beaches in 1994. Now is your opportunity to get both books at once.
