Summary: KEEP YOUR MONEY
Review: This book I am sorry to say was not very well thought out, the charecters and the plot did not flow; it was a struggle just to get through the first chapter. Please KEEP your money!!!! The most upsetting thing about the novel is that I lost my receipt and am not able to return it to the bookstore!!!!!

Summary: Better luck next time
Review: Mr. Tyree's latest book just didn't add up for me. I kept on reading because I hoped to find something redeeming or worthy about the characters, but to no avail. Somehow, I just did't see what the point was. Next time, I'll wait for the next book to be released in paperback (and donated to my local library).

Summary: One Star Is Being Nice
Review: I cannot believe that O-me Tired-ree had the nerve to write a sequel to that utter waste of paper and glue better known as Flyy Girl. I could not get past the first chapter of For the Love of Money, which quite honestly should have been named Whyy Girl. It was a jumbled mess that had me so confused and asking myself "Why am I reading this trash?" What was all this foolishness about Flyy Girl being Tracy's book, seemingly written by her, then later in the chapter she tells her agent to contact Omar Tyree to write a part two to Flyy Girl? Que? Did I miss something? Does the author have a split personality disorder that we don't know about? I just don't understand. But one thing I do understand and know for a fact is that I will NEVER read another Omar Tyree book. Thank you Amazon for posting the first chapter online so that others can preview this joke of a novel for themselves and save their greenbacks for something of substance with a plot, likeable characters and writing that doesn't make you cringe.

Summary: Then again, what else could be expected?
Review: Considering the fact that Flyy Girl had absolutely NO plot whatsoever (I bought the first book, hated it, gave it to my 14-yr. old sister and an hour later, she came back agitated and gave it back), and the fact that the author is full of 100% hot air, surely it should come as no surprise that this latest bomb is precisely that. I passed by the book the other day at the bookstore and stopped in surprise because I hadn't realized this author was still trying. I picked it up ANYWAY, just out of curiosity. Luckily, I kept my receipt.

This has to be a joke, I thought, until I heard the radio commercial promoting this book this morning. The book is absolutely horrid, and that's an understatement. Why in the world would somebody devote presumably valuable time, money and energy to create this mess, not to mention the money he must have paid on advertising. Why not just write a GOOD BOOK and let the book promote itself mostly by word of mouth! Hel-lo-o-o-o-, PLEASE take a lesson from SOMEBODY. You don't see anybody else doing radio commercials to sell books. Have some class, man! I half expected this one to be better than Flyy Girl simply because I like to be optimistic. This book was a major letdown and I actually feel sorry for the author. I'd be ashamed to have my name on an imitation book like this. Unfortunately, this flop is a major blow to aspiring AfAm authors. Because publishers are allowing authors like this to publish junk, they will be less inclined to sign new authors and take them seriously. Is this Simon & Schuster's idea of GOOD FICTION?? Are they lowering the standards for quality Black fiction or what?! I think yes, and find it extremely insulting. If anyone other than a Black author had written this mess, it would have been rejected at the mailroom. What a crock. If you agree, write the PUBLISHER and let them know this is not what we want to read.

I hope the author will take some classes in plot development and characterization. Personally, I'd be tempted to do an ostrich and bury my head in the sand.

Summary: What Happened Here?
Review: For The Love of Money is pure nonsense. I didn't finish the book and will certainly be donating it to my local library. In the meantime, can somebody tell me where was the story line? What about believable characters? And for the love of God, can someone please tell me how this book managed to get published?

Summary: For the Love of Words!
Review: I liked te story, although I was a bit dissapoointed to know that her and Victor didn't get together in the end of the book. I thought that there should have been more to the story, she went strait to thetop, no one has it that good all the time! That is how you know it is a fictional character. I thought that it was creative in the way he made it seem like she was a real person but I think that like others said it did lack substance. I give this a 4 because therewas definate thoguht put into the book, and I think that there was definatly some things that should've been changed around. I thought that there should ahve been more emphasis on the struggles that she would go through as a black woman, in Hollywood at that. You cans ee that OPmar Tyree is a talented man, and I admire that about him, but there has to be something more to your story, I thought Flyy Girl was a page tunrner, and if you read this after taht you can sorley dissappointed! I hate to say it, but I like the way it was written but there was no story really! I mean what hapeened to realism?

Summary: A new Tyree style
Review: For The Love Of Money showed another side of Omar Tyree and The infamous Tracy. The poetry inserts were original and raw just like Tracy. I am happy that Tracy made it in the big time because,That's where she belonged. Omar Tyree unlocked the talent of Tracy that readers of Flyy Girl thought she didn't have. I'm sooo happy, that he wrote the book in a totally different style from what his fans expected. So Omar, keep writing the unexpected. I hope to read about Tracy again.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I read Flyy Girl when it first came out. I was expecting a lot more. The entire concept of Tracy meeting Omar Tyree and he writing a book based on her life was terrible. Why couldn't he just tell the story of what became of Tracy? There was a lot missing from the book. The one scene with Victor was terrible. I really could go on and on. There was no substance whatsoever. Being that this was supposed to be the sequel to Flyy Girl I was expecting that same fire. Unfortunately, there wasn't even smoke.

Summary: Fly Girl Again
Review: I started this book and I actually began to like what was happening to Tracy. The book began to make sense as well as get good then wouldn't you know it THE END.I believe Omar could have done a better Job I was a little confused as to who was the author also.I know Omar's work and this just did not seem like the work that I was familiar with. Please Omar do yourself and your fans a favor try again call it Fly Girl again and this time give us what we paid for.Don't take your fans for granted. You know we will buy your books because of your history of making great books.Give us something to read and we will always buy your books.

Summary: A Disappointment
Review: I've read Single Mom and St. Louis. I always skipped over Flyy Girl. It just seemed as if I would not care for the book. After seeing FTLM, I thought that it would be a good read. I don't like to read sequels to a book that I did not read. Needless to say, I read FG within 1-2 days. Thought that it was interesting. I began reading FTLM. I read the 1st few chapters, found that it was boring and haven't looked at it since.

Borrow a copy.
