Rating: Summary: An unimpressive effort by O'reilly Review: Not worth a trip to the library, let alone your hard earned cash. An unimpressive book of opinion by an unimpressive author. Hard to finish.
Rating: Summary: READ THE BOOK THEN CRITICIZE!!!!! Review: First, I would like to say this is a great book that everyone with a brain would enjoy reading. To all the liberals who critique this book, why not try reading it before you criticize. BACK UP YOUR RHETORIC, Great Job Mr. O'Reilly!
Rating: Summary: learning the hard way Review: bill, or should i say mr. o'reilly, is at it again! if you can't take the heat, stay out of mamma's kitchen. all those immoral liberals who lost there way after 'Monicagate' really need to check out the no-spin zone. nothing but fair and balenced TRUTH medecine for our nation's ills. My best part is the part about knowing your true friends. Bill says "if they can't look you in the EYE, that's the first sign that they aren't LOOKING OUT FOR YOU"Bill is like a rabid Dougie Feith without the Ivy League pomp...(thankfully-FOR US!) My main part i didn't enjoy was the part about us loseing our way after DC9-11 with all the local citizens being mad at Pres. George Bush Jr. He said that if they didn't watch out, like being careful not to aid the terrorists by distracting our Police and protesting and mean words that they would "lose their redcoats" and be out in the cold. I thought that this was about them being sheep being sheered. we need to support our government and our president! but Bill tells it like it is and he keeps it real for us in the real world. i know that i am the master of my own domain and to take responsebility for what i do unto others. all those "elite" liberal hollywood-whiners passing judgement need to check it at the door! we need to rally around the big game so we don't loose our way!!!and you know what? i would not doubt a run for governer in 2006 baby!!!O'Reilly is a TRUE American!!!!!free US from this TYRANNY!!! I hope he does run to take us back to the glory days!!!and so we can RESIST terror!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: God Helps Them Who Help Themselves Review: Another automatic bestseller by Bill O'Reilly. If you like his TV show, you will like his book. It gives you a written compilation of what he says on TV. If you're answer to the title's question, "Who's Looking Out For Me", is "only me", then I suggest you read Bill O'Reilly's "Who's Looking Out For You", as well as, go on to read the book called "West Point..Thomas Jefferson" by Norman Thomas Remick for an absolute education on "American philosophy" and great insight on what it means to be an American. Remember, God helps them who help themselves.
Rating: Summary: You, guys, need to chill! Review: Why is everyone attacking Bill? Well... Because he writes a book, about his view on USA as it is and as he sees it today. I've never heard Bill calling people, F****** As****** on TV. Of course, my oppinion may be bias, since I agree with 95% of his comments. And haven't even completed the book, but so far its logical and if you have some common sence, even if you don't agree with Bill, you can see where he is coming from and if you have an open mind you can certainly learn a thing or two. Mr. O'Reilly is a true independent, and that what drives everyone nuts.
Rating: Summary: A Cry for Help! Review: Man, this guy is nuts. He's not a conservative. I'm a conservative. This guy is just nuts. This woman I'm dating thought I would like this book because we're both Republicans, but I'm having second thoughts about a long-term relationship with her if she believes that people like Bill O'Reilly represents, in any way, what I would consider good, moral, conservative values. He doesn't care about American. He's just trying to push my buttons to sell books, and I'm a bit offended at such an overt attempt to try to manipulate me into hating liberals, who I would like to add are NOT responsible for all of our country's woes. Please, if you are a fellow Republican, I urge you to disavow this book and all books like it that follow such a obvious low-brow formulaic arguments for using liberals as scapegoats. It makes us look stupid!
Rating: Summary: The Spin Stops Here, Baby!!! Review: Welcome to the No Spin Zone. All charlatans and ideologues like Al Franken need not apply. O'Reilly shines like a luminous beacon of intellectual honesty among a sea of biased and blinded media, politicians, and public officials. Regardless of your political leanings, provided that you possess the unique capacity for veracity, you surely must admire O'Reilly's singular and admirable candor and ability to call anyone and everyone on the carpet - all the while operating, of course, in the No Spin Zone. Perhaps his only annoying attribute is his shameless(as Franken would say) promotion of his website's premium membership, his doormats, Factor mugs, his books, etc. That being said, the message in this book is as salient as it is relevant - especially in this day and age. Surround yourself with good people and good things will happen - simple, yet impossible to overstate. He could have made it a tad longer - a little more effort, Bill - but, nonetheless it still packs quite a potent punch. After all, brevity is the soul of wit.
Rating: Summary: Thin skinned song and dance has worn REALLY thin Review: Is this guy's 15 minutes up yet? All I really needed to discern about this book and the author's true colors I heard in a recent exchange on his radio show. BR was going nuts, telling his listeners to write, email, phone a well known book retailer in the hopes of them taking some rapper's records off the shelf. When an intelligent caller said '...uh, Bill if you feel so strongly about this, why don't you tell that same retailer to quit selling your book on their site - after all do you want to be accociated with such a company?". O' Reilly went nuts and sanpped back : " THATS DIFFERENT AND YOU KNOW IT IS". End of dialogue, next caller. I'm right and you, Mr. Public, are an idiot. Its really worn thin from BR and all the talk radio self proclaimed experts on everything. Objectively criticze them and they go nuts screaming about liberal media elite blah, blah, blah. I'm no liberal and I'm sure no elite but I've come to the conclusion this act got tired long ago.
Rating: Summary: Who's Looking Out for Me? Review: Here are the people and organizations looking out for me: God, My Parents, My Wife, the ACLU, People for the American Way, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Sierra Club, Howard Dean, Wesley K. Clark, Dennis Kucinich, John Kerry, Paul Krugman, Molly Ivins, Michael Moore, Al Franken, and many others. Those who are NOT looking out for me (most of the time, they just look out for each other, and protect each other from the truth) Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, George W. Bush, John Ashcroft, Dick Cheney, Rummy, and the rest of those Lying Liars.
Rating: Summary: Biasedly Opinionated, Anglo Centered, & Review: This is a sad sad example of how those who have made it, are rich, socially upward mobile, and white spin the truth. If it doesnt fit there agenda, then spin it, and lie about it. And its scary how those on the right follow blindly, and really think they would have a higher status in this world if it wasnt for other ethnicities. There has always been less than 1% of the population who are white and rich, who fool the masses into believing those with the least influence are the reasons for there miserable middle class quagmire. If you choose to believe that, this is the book for you. If you see past the matrix, pass on this one. They don't have zero stars, so I was forced to give this book one.
