Rating: Summary: bill is honest Review: He's an honest and hardworking guy. That is very honorable to me.
Rating: Summary: Tabloid journalism at it's best! Review: When I first heard of Bill o'Reilly I wanted to like him. He's an irishman,so am I. Then I started to listen to him. It didn't take long for my disappointment to grow. First, he's a hypocrite, read up on his personal life,he's got NO room criticizing the Clintons! He who is without sin and all that. Then too, he never even attempts to be fair ,but then Rupert Murdoch signs his paychecks so what can you expect. Then he just shouts down anyone who disagrees with him. His book, which I just finished, is full of half truths and bald faced lies! He'll answer before the throne of God for his actions. Will he ,as Lee Atwater before him, apoligize for his lies before he meets his maker? Time alone will tell. May God have Mercy on you Bill.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Dont't listen to bull headed reviews like Mr. Mical here who used Al Franken's little phrase "Bill O'Liely". This is a good book with good opinions just like he's been doing on his show. This country would be better off if we had more people with their morals straight like Mr.O'Reily.
Rating: Summary: Bill's best book yet Review: Bill Oreilly wrote this book. You know this is a NO SPIN book. The best book yet from Mr. Oreilly.
Rating: Summary: Keep it real O'Reilly!!! Review: I'm a premium member holder of billoreilly.com and have been looking out(pardon the pun!) for this book for ages. I own a The Spin Stops Here doormat and an O'Reilly Factor golf visor that I wear while participating in my local bowling league. I'm trying to keep it pithy, but there's so much to say here, Bill. I watch your show every night and pre-ordered this book 3 months ago. When it came in the mail today, I just about lost it!I'm so pumped that I had to sit down to regain my composure. Welcome to my personal No Spin Zone! I'm just about finished and look forward to reading it again this weekend! Bill gets personal and reveals his personal mistakes so we don't do the same bone-headed things that he did. Thanks, Bill! The best thing about the book is that it's a keepsake classic that you can reread over and over again!
Rating: Summary: Who's Looking Out for You? Not O'Reilly Review: This book isn't as entertaining as "Those Who Trespass"--Bill's steamy (yes--steamy--this from "Mr. Clean") novel of a television host/serial killer (I kid you not--look it up yourself). This book is more of the same crud he dishes out on his show.
Rating: Summary: Al Franken's worst nightmare Review: Liberals have been taught that anything that makes them squirm in their seats, must be a lie. Really, its more like the scream emitted by Linda Blair when holy water is sprinkled on her head in the Exorcist. Bill does it again by sprinkling the truth across the pages of this book. If this book makes you uncomfortable enough to call Bill a liar, you've been brainwashed. Wake up, America! Our country is being stolen from us under the guise that its for our own good. For the people, by the people? Bah!
Rating: Summary: We know you are looking out,Bill! Review: This gives insight into a more personal side of Bill. But the title of his book raises many, many questions, such as: 1) Why don't unions protect hotel workers or retail workers who are often exploited as cheap labor while the 'savings' customers enjoy come at the expense of very hard-working unfortunate employees of these organizations. The next time you shop at Target,Home Depot, Walmart,Bets buy, think of how the short paycheck the person serving you gets allows you to enjoy non-essential goods while they struggle to eat and pay the mortgage. All the while unions do nothing. 2) Have you ever tried to get medical care without health insurance? Forget it! If you do get it more often than not it will be substandard unless by the good graces of an extraordinary caregiver who thinks beyond the buck. The medical system in the USA almost totally neglects the unfortunate. 3) In today's workforce, if you are 'too young' or 'too old',job opportunities aplenty will pass you by. In industry there is a vast underground network of discrimination and cronyism.Government overseers and private industry often form dotted line agreements that assure industries will get away with all sorts of abuses while those watchdogs sigh in the assurance of cushy jobs when "public service" is over. 4)In America as in nowhere else, if you do not have a solid family base you are all but done. There are surrogates(military, gangs, clubs, etc) but the safety nets are not as great as many boast publicly. What would Jesus think of how our society treats widows, orphans and the poor? Yes,indeed,Mr. O'Reilly,we know you are watching out for us-- but who else is?
Rating: Summary: Just Read the Book Review: I really wish these planted liberals whom don't like Bill O'Reilly and come on this board and slam anything that doesn't represent a "liberal Al Franken/NY Times" coached/indoctrinated opinion would read the book. Bill presents many good/logical arguments from a pragmatic point of view. I disagree with the premise that O'Reilly is a conservative. Bill's pragmatism and willingness to cut through the BS will alienate anyone whom has a hardcore, uncompromising ideology. A lot of the BS is coming from one particular side of the isle at this point in time, thus liberals get offended when O'Reilly cuts some of their ridiculous ideas/statements apart. Hard core conservatives also get offended by O'Reilly's pursuit of the Catholic church abusers, his stance on gay adoption, and his global warming beliefs. Point being, just read the book and make up your mind. You may not agree with everything Bill says, but he has logic and facts to back up his positions, whereas many others have half-statements/truths and a lot of drive-by character assination attempts. Challenge yourself to think, and come up with your own beliefs.
Rating: Summary: One star for the correct use of punctuation Review: What a sad, disheartening book by a sad, disheartening man. On a side note: Why do rabid defenders of this book love using so many exclamation points? ("Goddamn liberals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!") We can hear you. Calm down.
