Summary: Not worth a dime.
Review: This book read like a book that was written over a period of 3 days and nights.

Summary: Garbage
Review: I wish I could give this book 0 stars. Bill O'Reilly is a hack, a phony and a manipulator.
He's not looking out for you. He's looking out for Bill O'Reilly. Anything to pander. Anything to make a buck.
He figured out that there is more money to be made being a right-wing functionary than there is doing straight journalism or backing progressive causes.
His schtick--built on the idea that people should not look to the government for help--is garbage. It is chapter and verse Republicanism.

If the government is not there to help people, tell me: Why is it there at all? To line the pockets of the rich and build weapons?
There is a long list of government initiatives that have helped people while simultaneously strengthening the economy--from the G.I. Bill to Social Security to Medicare, Medicaid and Head Start. We need more measures of this kind, not less.
If I run out of toilet paper, I'll buy this book. Is the paper glossy or soft?

Summary: Reading reviews here is highly illustrative but not helpful
Review: I've just finished this book tonight after completely ignoring the reviewers here for the first time I think in all the years Amazon has provided the system. It's very clear that few of the O'Reilly zealots, those who think that Bill should win a Pulitzer for this to go along with his Polk, nor his detractors, to whom nothing the man says is given any reasoned thought whatsoever, choosing merely to continue in the fashion that has unfortunately pervaded internet discourse in the last few years when political matters are written about, namely: he's a bigot, he's just wrong, he just invents numbers, etc., etc....things that are unprovable and they know it.

The book disappointed me. O'Reilly on TV, while occasionally closed-minded or just plain naive and mulishly hard-headed, is at least entertaining and he is fair with his guest selection. The book however takes his unfortunate tendency to preach too far, casting a bad shadow on points that are otherwise worth debate and merit. I happen to think he is dead on about the border situation being total chaos, for instance, but his solution to the problem is so draconian and punitive that he is clearly blinded not by right-left ideology, but rather by his own personal viewpoint. To that degree, he really is an independent, but to reach a wider audience he's got to learn that it's not a weakness to have a change of position, nor is it ever possible to have the only right answer.

Other than that, the reviewers who complained about the small size of the book shouldn't be surprised. None of the right- or left-wing "neo-literati" are writing books to be discussed, they're writing books to pander to their audiences. And to that end they are just writing to line their pockets, all of them. Books by people like O'Reilly, Coulter, Franken, and Hannity need to spend more time exploring their ideology and providing substance to back it up (no Ann, yours don't count) to be taken seriously.

Summary: Second String Right Wing
Review: When O'Reilly first came on the air I respected him because he seemed to be independent. But as time goes on, it becomes clearer and clearer that he's just another conservative commentator. For my money, Limbaugh and Ann Coulter have much better facts and much better arguments. O'Reilly's newest book is just a bunch of preachy opinions with no justification, no evidence, no references. If he wants to play on the right wing team he's going to have to do much better than this if he wants to play on the first string.

Summary: Inside edition to political expert
Review: I don't know what all the fuss is about. After all, we are talking about someone who transformed himself from being a host of an entertainment show "Inside Edition" to "fair and balance" political commentator (cynical view of "Hollywood" anyone?).

You might as well listen to Arnold "we need to fix the problem but don't ask me how" S. for advise in politics and life. Here is the real fair and balanced opinion: Do everyone a favor and borrow the book from your local library, or read the first couple of chapter at the book store. If you still like it, then buy it. Don't encourage madness by throwing dollar into fire pit.

Summary: 224 pages of ranting and nothing to back it up
Review: I enjoyed reading the Factor and somewhat Liked The No spin zone, Whats Wrong Bill why are your books now becoming more shameless ways to insult people, I was very disapointed with His new book I find it ironic that amazon is offering the best value package buy Who's Looking out for you and Ann Courters Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right both seem to be written buy Lying "I don't have to back up my rants" nutcases.

Summary: Who's Pretending to Know Everything (anything)?
Review: I was duped. Bought this worthless book expecting to find a seed or two of wisdom and insight. It just isn't there. Nary a reference. Nary a substantiated assertion. Nary a cogent connection between one point and another. Nothing to make me believe this is anything but arrogant rambling by someone who doesn't much like his upbringing and isn't too sure about himself. I choked my way through this hoax of a book hoping the pony was in the manure somewhere. Maybe I would find out something about who is or isn't looking out for me . Well, the only clarity on that point is that O'Reilly is looking out for his pocketbook and the blind support of a few mindless zealots who will think he just defined reality. Save your money. Save your time...watch anything on T.V. It is hard to find a balanced viewpoint with O'Reilly as a spokesman for balance. He has no intellectual integrity and I expect that goes way beyond intellectual. His book wanders, is humorless, bears no resemblance to intellectual discourse and offends any reader who isn't rooted in the insecurity of self that is evident in the pompous rhetoric glued together into this parody of a high school term paper where words count for more than thought. To think I could have bought something useful with my money and spent my time doing something that would enrich my understanding of our complex society. I'll take a point on the score sheet for giving it an honest chance and having earned a legitimate foundation for my commentary, my disappouintment and my anger. At least now I now know for sure that O'Reilly is a phony and I have the staying power to read a whole book of tripe. Fool. I have never written a review like this but it feels good to get it of my chest and perhaps save another reflective citizen a terrible hour and a half.

Summary: Can you say short, sour, and way off the point!!!
Review: I read half the book in about 45 minutes. Its just about 200 pages big type and no citation of credible sources. Need I say more??

Summary: Bill O'Reilly somehow does it again
Review: Just when you think books can not get worse, Bill O'Reilly does his best to disprove that. I have to admit I could not finish this book for fear of my health. The man is a confirmed liar, and often contradicts himself. When he is not pulling false statistics out of his rear with no factual reference, he is bragging about how he worked his way up from a poor town (this he also lied about). He talks about treating his friends to Hawaii trips and does his best to point out every obvious statement about friendship. Gee, thanks to his book I now know that I sould not hang out with people that are going to steal my money to support their drug habits. Its a good thing he clued me in, boy did I dodge a bullet. Do yourself a favor. Go buy Al Franken's new book and see why this guy should be kicked out of journalism in general. The man lied about his political party going into Fox News too. If you still trust this man then I tip my hat to you.

Summary: Hmmmm....
Review: Read this book in a couple of evenings. A friend gave it to me for a laugh. Unfortunately there is no humour in it. While B.O is correct about a few things in this book, like dont trust the media, it is mostly an angry middle aged whiteman rant. If you watch fox news dont you already get that? If you want a insightful and humourous book get Al Frankens Book......
