Summary: A lot more than I expected it to be
Review: Having hated Bill O'Reillys volatile, violent manner on the show, I wanted to see if he was any more objective or reasonable in print. I expected to read through it, laughing at his self-righeousness and ignorance, but I was actually surprised. Although I don't think he's really liberal at all, he at least tries to make himself seem like he is. I hate the man, but I must say this is a very enjoyable, credible read. Nothing like the "Treason" or "Slander" filth I expected it to be.

Summary: You will have to pay me to read this book.
Review: Thats right. Let me say upfront. I have not read this book nor have any desire to read him. Not after I have seen him lose his temper in his own show and asked his guests to shut up . ( Like I invite you for a drink and then inform you that you are a pinhead and ask you to get out of my house). Not after I heard his interview on fresh air ( and how the "fresh" air became so "stale" with the steam he let off).
Bill may have a couple of points he is right about. But that is guranteed even by law of averages. We all are right about a couple of thigs. But his kind of feistiness about his own brand of journalism is nauseating to say the least. He tries to hammer his on opinion on to everyone and insults your intellect.
And finally the most ridiculous item of the day :
People please stop buying this book. If you must read, borrow it and read. Just till the time he gets off the NY bestseller list.

Summary: Take A Chill Pill, Bill!
Review: There now appears to be an equal number of people writing
"reviews" for this book based on his obnoxious treatment of Terry Gross on "Fresh Air" as the ones who have actually read his book. People would actually pay MONEY to read his arrogant opinions on paper?? After listening to his condescending diatribes on "Fresh Air", I'm beginning to understand why Al Franken's book is #3 on Amazon.com's
bestseller list, and Bill's is down at # 16...

Summary: Terrible easy answers
Review: First, this book has little substance. It is just a re-statement of the stuff from his last book. Second, he doesn't solve any problems with his unobjective views. This book is SHORT and Bill is just trying to get some more dough because he knows his fanatical followers will waste their money on it. He must be out of bad ideas and lies. His views should not be listened to when he cannot even keep his promises:
On April 22, 2003 Bill said:
"if weapons of mass destruction aren't found,... I will have to apologize because I bought into it... All right, a month from today, we'll do this story again."
On March 18, 2003 Bill said:
"if the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush Administration again."

Summary: Bill O'Reilly is a Propogandist
Review: This book is nothing more than a piece of propogandist garbage, like his show. It's all about how the "liberal" media is so unfair to poor O'Reilly and how every lie he's been caught in is not a lie but a 'mistake.' He didn't *intend* to check the box next to Republican on his voter registration form. He didn't MEAN to say "Peabody, the most prestigious award in journalism." He meant to say "Polk, which isn't exactly the most prestigious award in journalism."

Bill O'Reilly tells us about how he would have ended up in prison if he hadn't attended a Catholic school that 'set him straight.' How unfortunate for us that he didn't go to public school so he could have wound up a degenerative monster like all the other kids turned out by our Godless public schools.

Apparently his Catholic school was missing one of the commandments--Thou Shalt Not Lie! because O'Reilly does nothing but, in this book and in his show and anytime I've ever heard him open his mouth.

But I digress. Bill O'Reilly doesn't like when people review *him* when deciding whether they like his book, even though the book is all about HIM. The book is poorly written, sophomoric at best. The conservative took aim at Hillary Clinton for having a ghost writer (a very common practice). If Bill didn't have a ghost writer, he should have. O'Reilly would be lucky to get a passing grade in community college with the quality of this text.

I wanted to write Mr. O'Reilly and tell him what I thought of the book, but you have to pay $4.95 a month to be a premium member of his site to have access to his email address. Like the Bush administration, you have to pay to get an audience. And having wasted the money on this book (which I hope to sell on one of those online auction sites to some poor sucker), I am not about to pay $4.95. I can tell by at least one of the reviews that Bill was already here giving himself a glowing review, so I hope he revisits and reads this comment.

I did have to give one star, however. Whoever managed to airbrush the splotches off of O'Reilly's face did a tremendous job!

Summary: Why do I want to be like Bill?
Review: I have to admit, I enjoy watching his show, but why does that qualify him to tell me how to parent or choose friends? It is just like Andy Rooney telling me not to wave my American flag. He needs to stick to cereal box segments and Bill O'Reilly needs to stick to interviewing politicians. I am tired of all public figures thinking they are "experts" on all subjects. When Bill O'Reilly spent a week downing the high school "parents" that had a "private" party for their children's senior formal. I decided he was in the "know it all, but really know nothing" zone.Talk about what you know, Bill. Stop trying to look "politically" correct by throwing in social issues. I am interested in your political views, but not your parenting or social views.

Summary: Bill is right -only you are looking out for you in our world
Review: Amazon is turning into the Liberals lounge for bashing anyone that dares have an opinion other than their own. Bill O'reilly is simply telling us like it is. The truth is something that the liberal democrats left behind years ago. It's too bad that the very people who claim the title 'Liberal' are the ones who have changed the very definition of the word. Surely the word hipocrit should be added to the dictionary definition of the word - liberal. They're all about free speech until someone refers to God in some way. They're the ones always pushing the misguided idea of 'separation of church and state' yet they'll play the political scene in church until the cows come home! (example - Bill Clinton promoting Grey Davis in a California Baptist church) Point these out to any liberal democrat and not only will you have some illogical excuse but they'll flat out deny the facts and let you have it in the process! Thank God for people of integrity like Bill O'reilly who are standing up against special interest groups and the destruction of Democracy in America!

Summary: He's right, in this world only you can look out for you!
Review: Amazon is turning into the Liberals lounge to bash anything that disagrees with their ideas. They're not winning the votes in America anymore because people want to belong to a party that has some sort of anchor to moral values. Bill O'reilly is promoting this agenda therefore the Liberals slash it to pieces before they even pick it up. The definition of liberalism can't be found in any dictionary because the definition has been changed by the very people who claim the title! The definition surely includes Hipocrit these days. They're all about freedom of speech until someone speaks the name of God, and they're always pushing the misunderstood idea of "separation of church and state" yet they'll play politics in church until the cows come home! (example - Bill Clinton promoting Grey Davis in a california Baptist church on national television) But point these out to any Liberal Democrat and they will not only flat out deny the truth but they'll also rip you to pieces for pointing out the truth. Bill O'reilly has only written the truth in this book - only you can look out for you in this world!

Summary: Listen to the NPR interview first. It might save you $$.
Review: If you must read it, rent it at the library. This guy comes across as such a loud-mouth bully, it's amazing anyone watches his show let alone buys his books.

Summary: just an opinion
Review: the npr fresh air interview really showed how oreilly is a clear well spoken indivibual,i did not think that he escaped from the heat, more like there is places that are not worth staying at,i used to listen to fresh air and now i won't.i am giving 5 stars to the book(even if i didn't read the book yet,i just saw that a lot of people posted their opinions about the guy without talking about his book and i just felt like jumping in...) just because this guys stand up for his beliefs, (none of them are extreme if you think about it,it's just that he seems arrogant and he might be an egomaniac, but that does not take anything away from him)and i don't see him hurting anyone really,i think it is a mistake to judge someone from what he appears to be.his ideas are in the center and he seems to want to unify things, more like finding solutions to a problem rather than just destroying and bashing, and that's my opinion, now you you think for yourselves.
