Summary: Good, Quick read.
Review: Although I liked his last book better, this is still a good book. The chapter on the state of religion and spirtuality in today's world is right on. As is the chapter on race. It's funny how many people on this site reveiwing this book are so mad at Bill Oreilly and this book. Apparantly a lot of people don't want you to read this book. Unfortunatly for them the book will be openeing at #1 on the NY Times list. And even more people will buy his next book. Obviously your negative reviews aren't going to stop people from buying this book.

Summary: This book was great!
Review: I have actually read this book and it was very insightful. . People who really read the book could understand this. These negative reviews I have seen on this board are from people that probably did not read the book. I say probably because common sense is hard for some to grasp . These reviews are nothing more than conservative bashing. Just remember you need us conservatives, if we were not around WHO would take care of you? How would you live? Who would feed you? You have your minds made up and don't want to be confused with the facts... READ THE BOOK !

Summary: I'm just lookin out for ya Bill, You need a girlfriend!
Review: This book is written in such a tone, that it would be reasonable to deduce that O Reilly considers himself much more important than he really is. I loaned this book to my 87 year old GrandMother. To her dismay whilst reading the book, she questioned a point(yes she talks to herself) the author was attempting to make in the book. Lo and behold the book leapt from her hands, jumped thru the window ,and stormed off. The book hasn't been seen nor found since. Al Frankens book knocked this book out this week. Buy Al Frankens book. O Reilly seemingly aggrandizes his self importance. If you like braggerts, prosaic prose, and vapid points of view,well....This could be the book for you. Otherwise, ostensibly, purchase Al Frankens book.

Summary: A Good Read For Racists With Anger Management Issues
Review: If you missed O'Reilly's recent flip-out on NPR's Fresh Air, go to their website and check it out. On the NPR site, you'll get the entire interview, because they have journalistic standards. It isn't hard to see why this infuriates and confuses O'Reilly. The man is almost as intentionally sloppy a journalist -- or effective propagandist -- as Rush Limbaugh (The Big Fat Idiot of Al Franken's other excellent book).

This book is no improvement over O'Reilly's usual Right-Wing shout-down hothead schtick. It is chock full of the lies and distortion we've all come to expect from Bill. It is important to mention both, because O'Reilly is a master of both -- he raises dishonesty to several artforms.

The theme of this book is, presumably, 'trust'. It's hard to miss the irony, as it's written by one of the most popular con men in America today.

Summary: Al Franken will love this book
Review: If Bill hates doctored pictures on covers of books, he shoud fire his air brusher for this cover. Wow, how much makeup should a man wear?

Summary: I can't give Zero stars
Review: Wow, after reading Bills other books I was really looking forward to reading this one. I wanted political talk and got a puff piece that looks like it was written to counteract the Al Franken book, just thrown together to make Bill look like humanities gift to news. As we all know from his show, Bill seems to think he is being attacked at all times. This book seems to make an attempt to bring Bill back into the human race. It really is sad. When you ask "who is looking out for you" think of me, and save your $18.00. You will thank me later.

Review: I also wanted to check out this book after the Terry Gross interview on Fresh Air, October 8th. Bill OReilly has made an entire career out of baseless character defamation, incendiary and intellectually weak commentary, and name calling. Yet he got completely bent out of shape because a respected journalist asked him a few tough questions. I mean really, walking out of the studio? Did Terry Gross hurt your wittle feewings Bill? I guess if you can't stand the heat...

As for the book, I browsed it at my local bookstore. It's a travesty that amazon doesn't have a 0 stars option on these reviews. My advice - if you feel the need to watch a temper tamtrum in action, save your money and just watch his TV show or listen to the Terry Gross interview on audiostream

Summary: After reading this book I know who is looking out for Bill..
Review: I was hoping to find an insighful political commentary instead I was faced with a book in which the author spends most of the time letting the reader know that he (Mr. O'Reilly) is wonderful, all knowing, smarter than you etc....

No real pratical soultions are offered and to be honest this book is not even well written. I disagree with Rush Limbaugh much of the time but at least he is entertaining. This book is a good bedtime read as it put me right to sleep.

Summary: More rantings from a self-important pseudo journalist.
Review: I read Al Franken's book, and I thought that it would be instructive to read Bill O'Reilly's latest effort, particularly as O'Reilly spends much of his time recently ranting about Franken (jealousy?) and referring to "forces of darkness in the USA" (essentially, anyone who disagrees with O'Reilly)

To be fair, the advice given in the book is not unreasonable, but any fairly smart adult with some life experience and a grade school education will discover nothing new here.

What I found difficult to stomach was the unbelievably patronizing tone of the writings, replete with self-serving examples of how Bill O'Reilly managed to rise above all his (self-perceived) challenges to become the only voice of reason in this country.

Oh, please. O'Reilly's self-important strutting, and obnoxious self-aggrandizing tone left me with the feeling that this man has some serious issues. Surely he doesn't really believe his own PR staff? Or does he...

Worth reading if you're a sheep, and want your beliefs determined for you.

Or worth reading to compare with Franken's book: it's interesting to see which one comes off with a ring of truth. I made my decision; you should make yours. But read them both.
