Rating: Summary: Look out for YOURSELF and don't buy this book! Review: Separated at birth from Morton Downey perhaps? What a waste of time and money. You'll quickly discover America's official class bully and "King of Bluster" Bill O'Reilly has ranted and raved his way through another stellar example of circular logic gone awry. Hoping perhaps O'Reilly might actually care about someone or something other than hearing himself roar, I read this. Alas... With his ersatz Jesuit-style argumentative style, O'Reilly plys his brand of, good grief, what could you call it? It's not wisdom. I guess it's just the world according to Bill O'Reilly. If you buy into his, ahem, "unique" view of the world, you'll love this book. Otherwise, don't bother, and reread Al Franken instead.
Rating: Summary: Different from his other books, still a very good read Review: After reading Mr. O'Reilly's other books, I was really looking forward to reading this one as well. While it was not his best work, it was still worth the time and money to read it. Many will tell you that his book does not give any great answers or wisdom, but then again, who really thinks that life can be solved with easy answers? If you want easy answers and to be told what to do in your life, try Dr. Phil. This book is meant more (in my opinion) to teach people how to look out for themselves, how to read dangerous people and situations, and to learn from the mistakes that we all make in life. It will help you to stop and think about your own life and what path you are on, something we should all do once in awhile. This is not a "self help" book, like so many people think. It is information and incite laid out in so many words. Use it anyway you want. You can take these words and try to use them to better yourself, or you can blow them off as nonsense and never think of them again. If you read this book with an open mind and really stop to think about the items mentioned in the book and the impact they have (or have had) in your life, it will be worth your time to pick up a copy.
Rating: Summary: Bill Can Save Us! Review: Who's looking out for you? Bill is. I cried for days after reading this because I had never felt so happy. All you liberal Demoncrats beware! Bill is a good, good man with values that come from God, and he believes that a PATRIOT should be rewarded. I own a gun shop in North Carolina and let me tell you every single one of my customers thinks just the way I do, just the way every good American CITIZEN should think (give me a break you FREE SPEECH FREAKS, we live in the land of the free but that doesn't mean you can put down this GREAT COUNTRY) Anyhow, Bill has a wisdom that brings me to my knees. How could anyone not see that he isn't right when they can see (ANY ONE WITH HALF A BRAIN) that he is never wrong. IT'S COMMON SENSE, that's what it is, and I am going to buy 100 copies of this book AND GIVE THEM AWAY to the first 100 Bleeding Hearts that dare to cross the threshold into my store.
Rating: Summary: Blowhard O'Reilly Dispensing Self-Help Advice? Review: I am a big fan of O'Reilly's show, as it represents one of the best-executed intellectual shams in our modern pop cultural landscape. The whole "no-spin" shtick, the "man-of-the Westbury/Levittown people" nonsense from a Harvard doctoral grad, the "fair and balanced" hit pieces on randomly chosen targets such as the ACLU, the Clintons, Jesse Jackson, illegal immigrants etc. I love it all. Now, O'Reilly pretends in this book to be the big father-figure you never had, telling poor black kids to stay in school and avoid drugs (just like he did)! It's a hoot! I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in modern political rhetoric, carefully and masterfully disguised as home-spun wisdom from a millionaire guy who's "just like us." See, he eats pork rinds too, when he orders his maid to go buy him some. And he puts his hand-made, tailored pants on one leg at a time, just like you and me. So we all can learn alot from this windbag, like how to tell the children of 9/11 victims on national television to "just shut up!!" You know, O'Reilly really is looking out for us -- in the Orwellian sense. Feel safer yet?
Rating: Summary: Thanks Bill Review: Salon reports today that O'Reilly is blocking the release of the transcript of his "interview" (read rant) with Terry Gross. Now why do you suppose he would do that? Is Bill looking out for YOU again, or is Bill looking out for Bill. This book is a pamphlet between covers. Look out for Bill too, and go buy the book. He needs the money for attorney fees.
Rating: Summary: Not a good book! Review: Plain and simple, this book is just not good. I didn't enjoy any part of this book, and found it to be very boring. Even if you believe what Bill O'Reilly is saying, it is not an interesting read. There are much better books out there. I wouldn't waste my time on this book.
Rating: Summary: Same as other O'Reilly books Review: just rants, rants, rants, without any substance. If you like O'Reilly then you'll probably believe this book. It's funny because his book isnt supposed to be humor , but it is.
Rating: Summary: Sends the bleeding hearts squealing!!! Review: If you don't like Bill and the thing he says, you won't like this book. But, if your loking for someone who tells it like it is--not the way you'd like to think it is---check this book out. As other reveiwers have stated there is a lot of common sense in this book, So whats wrong with reading a little of that. God know we see enough nonsense in the media these days. We as a country need to be reminded that we have lost our way, and we need to return to the thinking, values, and beliefs that made us great. Sorry liberals, democrats, communists, you are in for a lot of stuff you won't like.
Rating: Summary: Completely off base! Review: Terible doesn't adequately describe this book. Bill O'Reilly has no sense of what this country is about. I am glad that this book was a complete flop, compared to all of the democrat's books that are out there. Better luck next time, Bill!
Rating: Summary: Completely Wrong! Review: This book is the biggest crock of Sh*t. I can't believe that this even made it to print. Bill O'Reilly has to be the most arrogant person in America. I would not recomment this book to anyone. I have always considered myself a Republican, but I don't support this kind of writing. Terrible book!
