Summary: Why is this man so revered?
Review: Keep an eye on your blood pressure while reading this. Especially if you hold our Military Service Men and Women in high esteem. Lt. Col. Patterson has exposed the Clintons' detest of the military and all that it stands for. He documents the cutting of nearly 300,000 service personnel, reducing eighteen Army divisions down to ten, from six percent of the G.N.P. spent on national defense to less than three percent, defense research and development spending cut by close to sixty percent. Get an inside look at the man many in the media and elite circles call "the best President America has ever had." What do they see in him? If you dislike the military and think less about national defense, I suppose this book only reaffirms your belief that President Clinton was a great President. But if you think the United States must remain strong and vigilant againt terrorism, please take your medication before reading. It's incredible.

Summary: Making excuses
Review: It's a little embarrassing this book is still being sold. Wherever Clinton went, the publishing money has been out there for anything that slimed him. The choir which already believes whatever it is told, chimes in with their off key whackiness.

No one is going to argue that Clinton was all wonderful. But now we have Alfred E. Neuman as president, who is at best a dim bulb. Remember the flight suit on the wrong way cruise, the end to all major conflict.

Really want to know what damaged America's national security? Read Rumsfeld's own memo about how screwed up this administration is in Iraq. They're all standing around in a circle passing the buck. Our troops deserve better.

Talking about Clinton endangering America's long term national security is foolish. He's gone. The military he left behind was potent and right now, a fair number of the people in Iraq aren't happy with their commander in chief who somehow never managed to show up for his National Guard duty -- a chicken hawk like most of his administration.

Bush and Rumsfeld in their campaign to avoid a 2004 election loss have endangered the present and long term security of the United States. They ignored clear warnings about terrorists. Ample evidence.

The war in Afghanistan made sense. But Alfred E. Neuman can't keep his eye on the target. Now, Bush and his regime are undermining the military by abusing it, overworking it, politicizing it and hiding their real agenda by an appeal to American patriotism. The last refuge of scoundrels.

In the meantime, American soldiers without adequate body armor are the targets in an increasingly hostile environment. How did that happen? Ask Bush. He wanted it. He did it.

Summary: Clearly an evil man
Review: Not only did Clinton "grope" his way to power, "molest" his way through our political scene, and "harass" his way through our foreign policy, he even managed to leave office with the world thinking kindly about America. Good will be damned. Thank goodness we have his hardheaded, cold-minded successor around to make sure that our country is hated again. I feel more masculine already!

Summary: Couldn't put this book down!
Review: It's amazing how much Democrats love Clinton and don't read their history. First off, Clinton did NOT I repeat NOT create any jobs. Nearly all of them were Internet-related (and NO Al Gore did NOT create the Internet). There was a surplus, but indeed it was because Clinton wanted to tax the rich and cared little if not at all about our military forces. he viewed them as mere servants who carry their luggage onto air force one (as accounted by the eye-witness and author). Also, Bin Ladin was offered by the Saudis to Clinton on a silver platter, but he was too busy playing golf and talking with his good old friend Arafat. People say he had good foreign policy when in truth he put foreign relations AHEAD of national interests, which hurt us and created the perfect storm for 9/11. And as for Iraq, Clinton felt uneasy leaving Saddam's regime still in power. And get this, Clinton didn't even visit the site of the first WTC bombing to mourn the victims and many injured New Yorkers! What an idiot. I am so glad I learned more about his life as "President" and know how much he put our National Security at risk. Liberals denounce my claims but they do not know their history. First off, Bush is not at fault for the economy. There was a recession that started in 2001. then 9/11 happened and took an even bigger blow on our economy. They claim tax Cuts only affect the welthy, but obviously they do not know how our tax system works. Please read this book and see for yourself why so many people hate the Clintons!

Summary: Read "The Lies of George W. Bush" instead.
Review: Dereliction is literate. Which is about all I can say about it that is favorable. Mostly, the material it covers is nicely summarized on its front-flap (dust jacket), and not much else is offered in the content.

As one reader said, it is a "kiss and tell" from a former military insider.

Which is why I suggest you read "The Lies of George W. Bush." At least the material it contains is CURRENT and relevant NOW.

While "Dereliction" is just more Clinton bashing.

Summary: Great Read
Review: This book was excellent. It really put the Clinton White House into perspective. Bill had three priorities 1.) Civil Rights 2.) Spend money and increase the size of government to provide services, and 3.) Get elected. The cold hard truth to swallow is that Clinton was horrible on issues of national security. I'm a Republican but a moderate one. I'm not into the Clinton bashing. He was a sleeze, but not a president worth getting so riled over. On domestic policies, he was strong on civil rights, average on ecinomics (the boom was thanks to Rony-nomics) and horrible on foreign policy. Overall a very average president. I'd stick him and HW Bush right next to each other in the middle of a presidential rankings scale.

As HW Bush couldn't manage the economy, he could handle foreign affairs. Clinton couldn't handle the foreign affairs, but was good at sustaining a growing economy.

This book looks at the poor third of Clinton's otherwise average presidential resume. Clinton's gaffe with North Korea, his failure to deal with Bin Laden (Hatch and co. have nothing to do with blocking him, he's the president, when he wants an ait strike, he picks up the phone and explains later), and failure to ebb terrorist activity ultimately set us up for what happened on Sept. 11. I won't go as far as to say he was respnosible for the attack. No one was. But his failure to act effectively sped up the the likelihood of the attack.

No president has ever fought for equal rights like Bill Clinton. SOme have done worse with money. Some have done better. But Clinton was an absolute failure in foreign policy. Appeasement does not work in modern foreign politics. I'm not a huge fan of W. Bush, but he's strong on national security and strong on the international scene. Domestically not so much. I think these are interesting times we live in. I think The two Bush's and Clinton are an interesting three presidents. No three presidents have ever been so average. It's worth looking into.

Summary: A shocking look at abuses of power and position.
Review: I couldn't put this book down, and it's obvious to me that the people who gave it negative reviews did not read it. I'm in active duty in the military and have been since near the end of Reagan's term. Lieutenant Colonel Patterson makes no bones about it: he was a fairly junior Air Force officer who saw the Clinton White House day in and day out for a few years (one idiot reviewer said Patterson was disgruntled for being passed over for promotion to one-star general... Patterson wasn't even up for that promotion, the next rank after Lt Col. is Colonel, then you get a star). No, Patterson admits to not being Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense and says that on a personal level, Clinton was likeable and treated him fine.
What Patterson does expose is how the administration treated the military (and anyone else they considered beneath them). He was witness to or party in incidents where Clinton groped a female enlisted airman on Air Force One, talks about how downright mean Hillary was to people, how the Administration abused military resources on a grander scale than any previous President's, to go on countless boondoggles across the world. He gives very specific examples of how Clinton lacked any foreign policy vision, damaged national security (including losing his copy of the nuclear launch codes), and helped create an environment that made 9-11 inevitable. How the President looked at all younger women like they'd just walked into a singles bar. He shows how the "Friends of Bill" abused White House personnel and other presidential perks, and how the whole administration just lacked what most of us would call "common courtesy."

Summary: At last, the truth told
Review: I think it's about time that someone finally had the guts to stand up and write the truth about Bill Clinton. I was flabbergasted by the amount of disrespect he had/has for the US military. To realize that we elected this monster, more than once, as our Commander in Chief, makes me sick. I am appalled by the popularity the Clintons have received, but I was interested to learn from this book that Clinton was the first president in almost 50 years that did not serve in the military.

Also, I believe that this book finally gives an accurate description of Hillary Clinton's true personality.

Bottom line: when it comes to politics, there are always books that can be written with the juicy details, but this book finally tells the truth about Bill Clinton and how he FAILED to fulfill his duty of Commander in Chief and how he, on several occasions throughout his office, compromised American security, while wining and dining the famous and wealthy on the taxpayer's bill.

I bought this book because I've never respected Bill Clinton, and I wanted facts behind my own personal dislike of the man. From this book, I got much more than I expected. I had a really hard time not being angry while I read it, angry at this man that did all of this, angry at Americans for re-electing him, angry that these stories never came out, angry that so many blind people support him, and most of all, angry of his obvious disrespect for the military (I can't say that enough times).

Summary: The Truth Hurts, Doesn't It...?
Review: The people who hate this book like to look at other happening during the Clinton administration rather than rebuke the facts stated in this book. Did Clinton have Bin Laden in his sights during his golf game, then let him go because of politics? Did he spend more tax dollars on trips to other countries than any other President? Did he lose the nuclear codes? How did he and Hilary view the military? As guardians or servants?
This book lets you in on some very scary facts.
The author cites the sex scandals only to the point where they involve the military. I got the feeling that the author didn't like Clinton, but he wanted to like him.
I am still in the process of verifying the facts stated in this book from other independent sources, and have found all too many to be true.
Oh, and as to the economy...even Al Gore admitted during his campaign that the reason for our prosperity during the '90's was due to Reaganomics, not to the 'genius' of former President Clinton. What decisions did he make to bring such an economic boom? I can't think of any! An easy, yet dangerous thing such as cutting the military to the bone (which Clinton did) could bring in an excess of tax dollars.

Summary: Wake Up and Smell the Coffee
Review: This is an excellent book. It should be a real eye opener to most. It was written by an actual witness to the folly of the Clinton administration - any nitwit who would loose the launch codes deserves a real a** kicking from here to Timbuktu. It will also demonstrate the utter contempt the Clintons have for our military personnel - a golf tournament took presidence over an air strike - our pilots, aircraft, crews, etc. were on the tarmacs and a carrier waiting to launch. If you don't care about the military personnel, consider your wallet and what that cost you, the taxpayer.

In all fairness, my opinion of Slick Willy was never favorable, and I believe he was the worst president this nation ever elected. I also believe Hillary would be far worse - an absolute disaster as president. These two greedy, irresponsible people gutted our military. This book only served to confirm my beliefs.

Am I biased? You can bet your life on it! I am the daughter of a highly decorated Marine fighter pilot who was killed in action and the mother of a young soldier who has been deployed overseas (including Iraq) more than his fair share - compliments of Slick Willy (as this book will demonstrate). As far as I am concerned, Bill and Hillary Clinton danced and spit on the graves of all who gave their lives in defense of our country - the same people who gave the Clintons the very freedoms they enjoy AND abuse. As I read the book my anger and disgust only increased.

This book is a must for anyone who truly cares about the future of the United States. Another excellent book is Treason by Ann H. Coulter. Another book that will really frighten you is Hillary's Scheme by Carl Limbacher.
