Rating: Summary: Finally someone comes forward! Review: It's about time that someone came forward with the "behind the scenes" look at what a travesty Clinton made of the office of the President of the USA. Lt. Col. Patterson was right there by Clinton's side and got to see it all. I am grateful he came forward and hope that another insider will emerge with a book about the Clinton Body Count. The fact that Clinton made Berger wait to make a decision to strike against Iraq pretty much tells what Clinton really found important. Cigar anyone??Reading this book will open your eyes unless you are so left of center that you are out of the ballpark.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK - Dispite phony Amazon reviews. Review: Not only have I read the book, I have spoken with the author twice. He is an honorable man who saw, first hand, The President Of The United States of America acting NOT in the best interest of our country. I find it most interesting that all of the people who dislike this book, are the same ones who hate and review most conservative books on Amazon.com. Isn't it strange that they would all buy and read books that they continually hate? Looks like another liberal lie!!!
Rating: Summary: Suspicions confirmed...one more time Review: Lt Col Patterson seems to have no ax to grind and comes across as a principled man with military and moral discipline. Possessing these qualities himself, he is clearly someone who can recognize the absence of them in others. To me he was quite believable. Many of the areas on which he comments have been dealt with before but never with this unique perspective. He really does an excellent job of putting the reader in the incident he is describing. His job as military aide was to be with the President but be in the background. That's exactly what I felt like as I read about Clinton's misstep at Greg Normans home, the anxiety that permeated the atmosphere wherever Hillary happened to be, the manner in which blacks were treated at the White House, the continued slashing of the defense budget while spreading our military around the world, the drop in military morale and numerous other examples of the facade that was the Clinton Administration. If you're not a Clinton fan, your suspicions and feelings will be confirmed. If you are a Clinton fan, you owe it to yourself to look at the other side of the Clinton White House. Sometimes the truth can be painful but you'll be better for it in the long run. It's a good read and I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Honor, Commitment, Commander in Chief? Mere words.... Review: Excellent insight! A true eye-opener for all of us in the military and for the country as a whole. This is not a "dirty-tell-all book," on a personal level, but rather how the "Commander in Chief" of the worlds most powerful, educated and all-volunteer force hollowed, weakened and starved all of us in uniform. I always wondered why we were doing all those humanaterian missions while raising the depolyment level beyond capacity! The military became just another "social" platform of "uniformed social-workers." Great read! Highly Recommended for all Presidents, Senators and congresmen to read and prevent these events from occuring again!
Rating: Summary: Military Propaganda Review: After reading this book I became aware of just how far a military person would go to protect in any way they can the secrets that engulf not only our but the world wide military services. To be sure all armies are an unfortunate necessity but they should never be accepted without question or with complete trust, that is how the Hitlers and Hussein take over. On a sad but lighter side who can forget the military acceptance of and need for the $250 tolit seat. Knowing how the military is capable of propaganda to its own end and how it didn't like Clinton I take this book with a grain of salt. After all they would rather have the current president as commander in chief, a man who did all in his power to avoid serving his country along side them, to them having supported the decorated war hero who fought for his counrty in their company. That alone should scare people and make them question books such as these. One star for bing short.
Rating: Summary: Review the reviews Review: If you are curious about this book, then do one thing: review all of the following 35 reviews for it. You will quickly notice that the reviews give the book either five stars or one star (there are two with three stars, but they are the exceptions). Those who give the book five stars discuss the content of the book while those who give it one star disparage the author. A few of them also call the book a pack of lies, but don't give examples, except for one. A reader from St. Paul Minnesota said: "Unlike what Mr. Patterson here says, the President doesn't carry around the launch codes. One of his aides does that, in a briefcase. So if the codes were lost, it wasn't President Clinton that lost them. This is just one of the many untruths to be found in this book." The BBC press on April 26, 1999, published an article entitled "World: Americas Clinton drops nuclear football." It details how President Clinton did in fact leave behind the nuclear football--as well as the aide it was attached to. "A Reader" is clearly not apprised of the facts, and his opinioon may be discounted as uninformed. Also, reviewer Edwin Carr from Boston on March 21 said: "a distinguished officer like himself, who took the same oath that I did, to protect and serve an American President and maintain his confidences and protect the job and position of the President of the United States, could fail the oath he swore to protect. Buzz should be ashamed that he has betrayed the confidence of all of us who were privileged to serve a President. He betrayed his leader, who he chose to serve. He betrayed his country for divulging secrets he swore to protect." Mr. Carr should be reminded that the consitutional oath he refers to is an oath to the people of the United States and not to one specific leader. Only leaders like Saddam require an oath to a specific leader, and that it is Clinton who betrayed his country and HIS oath. Patterson is merely giving details. In conclusion, I would suggest you do yourself a favor: buy this book and use the web to verify the allegations contained in it. You will quickly learn that for what can be verified, the writer is right on the money.
Rating: Summary: Critical Thinking Review: Well, it seems this book has brought out most of the political nuts. All the reviews I have read so far are way off. If people are going to take the time to write a review, they should at least read the book. This book is a great read. It gives details, without giving you the "nods". It is not a personal slam as most of these reviewers would like you to believe. If they had read the book, they would know this. It is a great book to get the insiders view. I have no political affiliation. I prefer to think of the good of others, not the good of a "political" party. As a house wife from the "Show Me" state, I think Mr. Patterson did show me a new outlook. I also was in the military and am proud that someone would be brave enough to write about their experience. That is one reason I did put on the uniform, to protect our country and uphold the freedoms of the United States. A Note to Future Reviewers: READ THE BOOK. THEN APPLY CRITICAL THINKING. Extreme Emotional Outbursts just bring you down, not the author.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: This important book is neither rumor nor hearsay; it is a first-hand account by a dedicated Air Force officer who, unlike many in the Clinton Aministration, honored his oath of office. While Lt Col Patterson scrupulously avoids personal attacks on Mr. Clinton, he paints a clear and disturbing picture of a White House where winning the domestic political battle and protecting the president from any fallout for his irresponsible, if not criminal, actions take precedence over everything - including our national security.
Rating: Summary: A great read for anyone but Clinton apologists. Review: Gee, who should I believe? A military officer who passed rigorous background checks and held one of the highest security clearances available? Who was judged to be trustworthy enough to carry the country's nuclear launch codes? Should I believe this man was truthful and trustworthy one day, and suddenly a right-wing extremist the next? Or, maybe to find the "truth," I should believe a man who couldn't have qualified for a security clearance had he not been elected President? This book does not profess to be a history treatise, nor some kind of foriegn policy primer. This is a great inside look at the arrogant, smug Clintonistas, and just exactly where they prioritized the needs of the country with their own personal aggrandizement. What impresses me most is the level of professionalism Col Patterson displayed by continuing to do his job in the face of the such conduct. Although the Clinton apologist will try to smear the messenger and ignore the message, Col Patterson's dedication to duty, his determination to respect the office when he couldn't respect the man (Who in the military could?) is in keeping with the highest traditions of military service. My favorite insight to the Clinton's lack of character? Even when it matters least (his golf score), he lies and cheats.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT read! Review: This is a great book written from someone with a first hand account of events as they occurred. It's amazing to me how other reviewers have slammed the author implying he is making this all up. Were they there? He was. Not surprising, most of the negative reviews have come from obviously Clinton supporters who continue to deny reality in their views of this ex President. Thank you Buzz for your candid, first hand account of so many events.
