Rating: Summary: Even better than "The Clinton Chronicles" Review: Exposes liberals for what they are! As the author makes clear, Cl_nt_n (I can't bear to spell out his name!) was a man of such mendacity and depravity! In an enlightened and pious Republic, he would have been barred from public office! The Founding Father would have demanded no less!
Rating: Summary: What purpose does this serve with our soldiers in battle? Review: Patterson's book is at best Republican opportunism run amok. I know many good conservatives who have true compassion and can see both sides of the story clearly and then make a decision based on fact and not Patterson's rather fantastic work of fiction. I refer the "author" of this book as Patterson rather than "Colonel" is that Patterson is a genuine red, white and blue disgrace to the uniform. Modern conservatism has been hijacked by its own internal band of domestic terrorism. Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilley (an absolute miscreant who [wasn't truthful] about his being a conservative for years), Savage (real name: Weiner) and the rest of the right wing chicken hawks have made millions out of duping their conservative minions by preaching a non-stop diatribe of hate and division. Under President Clinton this country had peace, prosperity and a "can do" attitude unlike any other time in its history. Yet conservative pundits hated this success with an unbridled passion that bordered on a weird type of hysteria. The jihad against President Clinton by the GOP that continues to this day has done more to damage this country than any private affair with an intern that President Clinton had. The all out effort to discredit the Clinton Administration led the GOP to push an obvious unqualified man who brought nothing but name recognition as a candidate in the 2000 election. Our country has paid a terrible price since. The Bush Administration has been one disaster after another. It started with the talking down of the economy and allowing California to be graphically [taken] by the energy cartel that heavily backed Bush in the election. Bush does not seem to get that when the 5th largest economy in the world that is California coughs, the rest of the country quickly catches cold. The 9/11 hearings of last Summer should have shocked and dismayed the American people to demand the resignations of Rice, Rumsfeld, and Ashcroft for ... dereliction of duty in failing to protect the United States and stopping the attacks. Does anyone wonder why the "Iraq threat" conveniently came to the forefront at this time? The testimony of Kathleen Crowley of the FBI who did connect the dots and figured out to a certain extent what was going to take place on September 11th yet was ignored by the senior brass all the way up to Condoleezza Rice is so outrageous it is beyond words. When Rice was confronted with this information she sarcastically remarked "what? Are we supposed to shut down the entire air traffic control system?" This is but one of thousands of examples of unbridled arrogance that has led this country to the disaster it is now. Instead of leadership we get distraction from this administration. It is sad to see the murders of 3,000 Americans be used for political expediency in this way. It has now become "anything to be re-elected at any cost" with Bush. The Bush administration will have a legacy alright. It will be a legacy of excuses. Three million jobs lost, a government buried in red ink, the American reputation in shambles and a feeling of defeat after a brilliant military victory in Iraq as now we the American taxpayers have the privilege of governing a people and rebuilding a country that resents us. But oh well, the Bush oil cartel has their wells and that Osama guy is still around. Rome continues to burn and the lies and deceit continue. As long as Bush and his sorted gaggle of right wing extremists have people like Patterson willing to lie and dishonor themselves to pen these types of fiction then this country will continue to be torn apart by the Republican Party. It is time for this country to wake up to the fact that our freedoms are being eroded; our wealth transferred to the privileged few and we are kept in a state of fear. A true leader inspires courage and not fear. Bush and people like Patterson are not those leaders.
Rating: Summary: Drop jaw amazing Review: Like many, this book made me very angry. Anyone who believes that personal character does not matter in elected officials needs to read this book. I had heard from many of my friends in the military how unhappy they were serving under Bill Clinton. This first hand account of how Bill Clinton absolutely decimated our military is quite astonishing, and backs up many of the things my military friends had told me. How poorly this country was run for eight years is astonishing. This is the most appropriate title of a book I have ever encountered. Definitely a must read.
Rating: Summary: Dereliction of Military Duty Review: This book is nothing more than a bystander's opinion based on baseless inferences throughout his time as a Military Aide. He has discredited and shamed past and future military aides by publishing what are usually confidential and privileged experiences. He is a disgrace and this book is proof of that.
Rating: Summary: The Republican Jackie Collins at work... Review: How low can low go...well, after reading this book I discovered a new low. I don't particularly like Bill Clinton, but this book is not really about Bill Clinton. It reads like the National Enquirer and it sounds as if the author (if we can call him that) has gotten lost in his own agenda and bitterness about how he did not get to become a Jedi. I am surprised he found a publisher to print this book, but then again, the publisher might be trying to fill a new niche: the reader that really wants to read Jackie Collins but it feels too macho to do so.
Rating: Summary: Very badly written, one sided and historically inaccurate Review: This book is nothing more than a badly written piece of historically inaccurate events, half truths and unintelligent analysis of the author's pre made conclusions. I found it both a waste of time and money. If you want to learn about President Clinton and America's national security, you better look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: some who saw the same Review: Finally someone tells the story that other officers saw and felt the same frustrations. It is comforting to know that I wasn't the only officer that left the military because of the CinC. Problem is where looking at the same situation five years from now.
Rating: Summary: MORE PROOF Review: THIS IS A GREAT BOOK THAT SHOWS EVEN MORE EVIDENCE WHAT A DISASTER CLINTON WAS TO THIS COUNTRY. WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR THE 1 STAR MORONS TO STOP DEFENDING THAT CREEP? PATTERSON SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR AN OUTSTANDING BOOK.
Rating: Summary: Great! A Must Read for all Americans! Review: This book goes into more and more detail about what everyone already knows about our former waste of a president. He was not concerned about anything other than himself, as the book details. Even though we all know the end of the story regarding the Clinton years, this book fills in the blanks and is told from an insider who closely worked with him. Five Stars! A must read.
Rating: Summary: It's really not a suprise to me Review: I read this book after listening to an interview with the author. I wish I could say I was suprised by the revelations but I already had a fairly low opinion of Clinton and his lack of morality so that nothing in the book really shocked me. The book is written in a rather simplistic way, more like a report with no real climax. Just another confirmation that Clinton was an extremely intelligent man that had no sense of commitment to anyone but himself.
