Rating: Summary: A MUST READ! Review: While we heard a lot of the "stories" of what went on in the White House, this is the confirmation coming from one of the closest people to work in the presigious historical building. Even though he was a career military officer who swore and oath to "protect and defend the constitution of the United States of America," the fact that he did not write the book as an active military member shows a lot of tact on behalf of the author. I give Lt. Col. Patterson a lot of credit for his professionalism in keeping his mouth shut while working for the President, and for not quitting. If I were in the same situation, I'm not sure if I could have stuck it out like he did with all that went wrong. At the same time, I also give him a lot of credit for providing a somewhat "unbiased" look at the years he worked in the White House. Patterson writes with a lot of conviction. He doesn't write like he has a vandetta against his former employer, but comes across like an objective historian. The truth is "the story has to be told." My interpretation is that the Lt. Col. had a burden on his shoulders because he writes with a heavy heart. He's definitely not a firebrand of an author, and that lends credibility to the book. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable read from a literary standpoint.
Rating: Summary: How can you do this to the military? Review: I am the first to agree that Clinton is a pig and everything that the author exposes may be very true. However, the author swore an oath to uphold the Constitution and protect the Commander in Chief. I find it very disturbing that this book is supported. During my read, I was outraged by the horifying actions of Clinton, however, i was even more horified by the audacity of a serving military officer to use his position to make money.
Rating: Summary: White Wash Review: This book "exposed" some old stuff. It wasn't strong enough in its direction. Backpeddaled a lot. Clinton was more than derelict and we all know that, even his supporters know that. He was treasonous (in the pure sense of the word - ala giving away second stage missile technology among other things like nuclear secrets); internationally arrogant; lacivious (and proud of it), and destructive to the world's security. Had he done his job in '92, '94 we wouldn't be facing so many internatonal wartime challenges now. Consequently this is a 2 hour read and we've read it all before.
Rating: Summary: Should Be Required Reading Review: This book is a quick read and confirmed the "creepy feelings" I had for the duration of the Clintons' administration. The reality of the Clintons' and their cronies' self centeredness is astounding. Every American should read this book.
Rating: Summary: Clinton Exposed as an Anti-American Pig Review: This is a victory for patriots. Bill Clinton was the WORST commander in chief of our nation's 227 year history. He had total disrespect for our heroes in the military. He cut defense spending in order to pump more bucks into social programs so that the Democrats would win in elections. He sent the Rangers and Delta Force into Somalia and the got slaughtered in a dirty street of Mogadishu. I bet you he doesnt know the name or even care about the two dead Delta sergeants who he gave posthumus Medals of Honor. Clinton sent troops to HAITI! Why? To restore "democracy" to Haiti which has never even been a democracy. He let OSAMA BIN LADEN SLIP THROUGH OUR FINGERS. Bill Clinton is a criminal. Thank god for LTC Patterson who had the stones to write this book.
Rating: Summary: A must read Review: This book changed my whole outlook on the importance of knowing who your voting for. The story of Mr. Clinton rapeing the young service woman and almost having to be forced to appologies, left me numb. I couldnt help to think what that poor woman and her family went through and how I would have handled it if it was my daughter. My other shock came from the story of Mr. Clinton losing the nuclear codes and only worrying that the story didnt get to the press. The Clintons were not worthy of holding the highest office of the nation and this book proves it.
Rating: Summary: Hooray for Buzz! Review: Thank goodness some people have the courage to tell the truth about what a lousy person and president Bill Clinton was and is. This is one person's behind-the-scenes viewpoint of part of the mess that was created when the Clintons were foolishly voted into office, not once but twice! (Shame on us.) While not an intellectually beleaguered story, it does point out what a lot of Americans throughout the country knew or sensed all along, that Bill is a big fat liar, and incredibly self-centered. And Hillary is not much better. This military man has no reason to fabricate these things, and he gains nothing by writing this - this author is a portrait of a true American. One who is not afraid to say "What is happening is WRONG" instead of being tiresomely politically correct. That's why I wish I could give this book 10 stars, instead of 5.
Rating: Summary: Must Read. Especially for those who love this country. Review: This book does a wonderful job of pointing out how the Clinton Administration destroyed the morale of our military, risked lives for political gain, and endangered each and every person in this the greatest of all nations. The ultimate politician, Bill Clinton has left his mark on history. And the more history passes, the more people will finally admit the truth: just voting for the "economy stupid" was an enormous mistake.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe I read the whole thing! Review: The slanderous title intrigued me. The writing was awful. The arguments so distorted, and the obvious truths avoided completely. But the most amazing thing was that someone actually paid to publish such a poorly written, unresearched, piece of more right wing wacko propaganda. Robert paterson should be ashamed of himself - or at least embarrassed. Please, try the truth next time, and research your supposed facts!
Rating: Summary: Should Clinton be Blamed? Review: Author Robert Patterson is an experienced military man who spent time in the Clinton White House, following the ex- president wherever he went and carrying the nuclear football containing the secret information needed to launch an attack. He got to know the president on a personal level and a professional level, and while he liked the president personally, he did not like Clinton's negative attitude toward the military. Patterson feels that Clinton's indifference toward taking appropriate military action and his loathing of the armed forces in general led to the attacks on September 11, 2003. Patterson is especially disturbed at the "blown opportunity" back in the late 1990's when U.S. security forces had Osama Bin Laden within striking range and could have easily taken him out but couldn't because of Clinton. They needed the official approval from the president before they could strike, and Clinton could not make up his mind. Before long, the opportunity had passed. Patterson feels that this lack of action led to the fatal attacks in the Fall of 2001. He doesn't make an outright accusation, but you can tell that this is how he feels. Could taking the appropriate military action have thwarted these attacks on the U.S.? No one will ever know for certain. Personally, I think the attacks would have occurred regardless. People may not like Osama Bin laden, but he is no dummy. He knew he was a marked man and that he could be killed at any time. I'm certain that he had a back up plan, in case of his death, to carry out the attacks as planned. Overall, this book is a decent one, but it's a little too short to take it as seriously as I would like. Clinton- bashers will love it, and so will those who are strong supporters of a large military. It's a little bit too short, in my opinion, to be completely effective. But it's a pretty good book that makes you wonder how history might have changed if Clinton had taken quick, decisive action when the opportunity was present.
