Summary: Phenomenal book!
Review: As a practicing architect and also a student of architectural history this is not only one of the best books on the history of Greek architecture, I think it's one of the best books of architectural history published in the last ten years, period. It makes broad sweeps confidently, it has extraordinary close readings of individual works. All are compelling.
And the book it beautiful -- well designed, a beautiful collection of photographs, excellent line drawings. The images and drawings are so good everyone in my office was pouring over this thing all week.
Finally -- it is a compelling argument for the continuing relevance of the greek architectural accomplishment.
