Summary: The Supurb Photography of Gary Ladd
Review: To those with an interest in the Colorado Plateau(more specifically the Grand Canyon & the Lake Powell area) the name Gary Ladd will be familiar. He one of the finest Large Format landscape photographers in the southwest. What is a little unusual is that he has devoted almost his entire career(30 yrs) to a very specific area: The Grand Canyon & Lake Powell. The tack sharp images are beautiful & are printed on excellent stock. These are not the usual overlooks that many are familiar with.Ladd has done strenuous hikes and spent over 50 days in the Canyon photographing the Colorado & the beautiful side canyons. He has given us photographs of places that very few of us will ever see. There are also excellent essays that Ladd has written. Each photo is captioned with as many as three comments relating to the land, his experience while taking the image, and information about the image.I loved this book and recommend it to anyone who loves the canyons of the southwest and those who would like to see the canyons through the eyes of a master.
