Summary: Valuable Resource!
Review: I use this book in my course on Theology of Marriaage and Family as a valuable resource for discovering and applying key biblical and psychological concepts of healthy marital relationships. What is remarkable about the book is the simplicity of style which only serves to make more profound the wisdom which the author's bring to bear out of their own experience. In all of my years of giving pastoral counseling and training to married couples, I have found nothing to compare with this. The concepts are clear and compelling. The principles and exercises are user friendly. Reading and discussing this book is just like having John and Claire right there in the room as coaches and comrades in the process of experiencing a more thriving marriage relationship.

Summary: Breakthrough advice helpful to any married couple
Review: I've been married 16 years and this is the best advice (in any form) I've ever received about marriage. The Yzaguirres' approach to marriage is deep without being complex and spiritual without being "denominational." You don't have to have a Ph.D. to understand this book, but even if you are a Ph.D. you'll still get a lot out of it. Like most things that seem to be "common sense," the insights presented by the Yzaguirres have eluded most people (including me!). As I read the book, I kept thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?" And although the authors are coming from a Christian faith perspective, I believe their advice would be useful to people of any faith or even no faith. On the other hand, even people who are already living lives of faith can benefit. The book really focuses on practical things spouses can do every day to make their marriages work. (I thought I had been taking a good Christian approach to my marriage, but on just about every page of this book I saw big things I needed to improve on!) Many thanks to the authors for a great book!
