Summary: A very thoughtful guide. Practical, deep, but not too deep.
Review: A very good guide for a specific type of loss. The author really covers the spectrum of feelings and issues associated with losing a parent. Not only helpful for a child of a deceased parent but also for a parent who remains critically ill. In fact, for the child who has already lost a parent, going through the process of a parent's death is very helpful as well. Not the only book a grieving (adult) child should have but a necessary one.

Summary: The one book that I recommend
Review: After my mother suddenly passed away, I was having a really tough time coping--nothing anyone would do or say could change the profound sense of insecurity I felt. Short, to-the-point, and not overly "touchy-feely", it simply explains why you are feeling the way you do. I had wished that I had read the book BEFORE my mother had died because the first section of the book focuses on dealing with terminally ill parents and steps you can take to prepare yourself. I recommended it to all my friends whose parents are still living.
