Summary: Life Is An Attitude
Review: 'Life Is An Attitude' is profound in its simplicity. The use of quotes from various sources are right on the mark; the importance of a positive attitude is proved again and again; the stories of various people are concise and precise examples of how one CAN be; and finally, Ms. Billington helps one change her/his thinking pattern to aid in the ultimate goal of contentment and self-acceptance in a successful and good life. It is one of the best self-help books I have read (and I've read alot of them for various reasons); one can pick it up, read a little, absorb, and nothing is lost if it's awhile before it is picked up again. Thank you, Dottie Billington! I do so hope there's another book in the works.

Summary: fantasic for personal growth
Review: Dottie Billington's book is delightful and thought-provoking. It will cause you to think about your own life and your "attitude" about it. In addition, you'll want to buy copies for family and friends, so you can talk about it together! It would make a truly wonderful birthday or holiday gift. Life is an attitude. Yes, indeed. Dottie Billington helps us see how important a positive one is. I especially enjoyed two chapters. The first is called "Ya Gotta Be Juicy!" which is a terrific enough title in and of itself. It's about savoring, relishing, devoring life. Another chapter is about giving back, and how "we can't seriously help another without helping ourselves."

Summary: It's All Quite Familiar.......
Review: Dr. Dottie Billington has really hit on a need in todays society. We sometimes have just not given ourselves the self-directed attention needed to achieve our true potential happiness and love for those closest to us.

I tried a number of the exercises in her book and they are full of "AHAs" which affect the way I wish to live my life. A must read!

Summary: This book left a postive mark on me
Review: I had started thinking that I couldn't really gain anything by reading yet another positive attitude, self-help book. I have read so many and have even written my own, but I was wrong. Dottie's colorful descriptions and personal examples ushered in nicely the collection of thoughts and ideas that she discusses in this book. Her literary voice is energetic and passionate. She covers many topics in bite-sized chunks, then moves on to the next. I felt full and satisfied when I closed the cover, but best of all I felt a renewed determination to grow and improve. Thank you, Dottie.

Summary: Life is an Attitude, you bet!!
Review: Of all the self-help, inspirational books I've read, this is the best. Ms. Billington is concise, direct and to the point. It is a bedside must. I have given at least 2 dozen to friends with great responses. It is Simple Abundance, condensed. Ms. Billington writes in an easy understandable but thought provoking manner. She tells it like it is, like Phil McGraw on the Oprah Show. Her directness and simplicity are refreshing and I continue to read specific chapters again and again. I hope there will be another book in the future.

Summary: Made me want to wake up in the morning!
Review: This book filled me with a real sense of power over my own life. It made me see that it's not really what happens to us that determines how we feel, but rather how we react to what has happened. Dr. Billington gives lots of useful and fun tips on how we can learn to control our own lives.

Summary: Change your attitude so you can change your life
Review: We can't always control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to what happens to us. How things affect us is based on our attitude. This is where the book "Life is an Attitude" comes into play. The bottom line is that you determine what kind of life you have and what kind of life you will have by your attitude. Even when your life seems out of control, you are still in control of yourself and your attitude. Of course that is easy enough to say, but we all have baggage in our lives and sometimes keeping the correct attitude is not easy.

Each of the 46 chapters of "Life is an Attitude" focuses on one specific aspect of a person's overall attitude. At the end of each chapter are exercises and suggestions on how to incorporate that aspect into your life. And if that is not enough, the book contains multiple very appropriate thought provoking quotes. As you work through the book you learn that you are in control of your life and how to keep in control and happy. Although several parts of the book show that it was written for an adult audience (maybe late thirties or older) it is still a recommended read for anyone.
