Summary: JOIN AN ADVENTURE INTO HEALING!
Review: Ever wonder just where it is that alchemy, homeopathy, dream work, and Jungian analysis meet... or if indeed they do? In Jane Cicchetti's world they meet AND create overlays of healing power that relate directly to our bodies, our minds, and our spirits. The result is a marvellous book that is nothing less than a new fount of wisdom and strength for healers, with sometimes startling, always penetrating, observations about the nature of dis-ease and the healing process. This is a seminal book that invites you into the author's soul to join her exploration, and it offers you new ways to view the familiar and become more effective in all that you do. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Summary: Dreams, Symbols, & Homeopathy
Review: Jane Cicchetti's wonderfully and clearly written book gives us a profound framework for us to continue to grow and explore the topic of psyche and soma. It is ideally useful for those practicing homeopathy, but equally interesting for those who are interested in the frontiers of mind-body medicine.

To Ccchetti "dreams are the doorway to the symbolic realm of the psyche, a powerful force undelying human consciousness (p.5.)" She convincingly describes the need for a synthesis betwen the realm of science and rational thinking and the world of dreams and symbols; a synthesis that calls for us to accept the paradoxes of life. She writes: "Working with dreams requires that we monentarily lead ourselvers into the relam pregnant with new ideas. It is a creative experience that opens the mind to new possibilities and solutions (p.13)"

The books' outline consists of four parts, named after ancient alchemical themes: The Emergence of Opposites, which explores a much needed reiteration of the holistic paradigm underlying homeopathy's theoretical basis. The Mercurial Fountain: The Inner world of the Psyche, puts the Jungian archetypes in general and specifically the archetypes of the shadow, anima/animus and the self into an easily understandable perspective. Part three Decent into the Baths: Moving Toward the union of Opposites, places the use of dreams in case taking in a manner that opens new doors to the collective unconscious and respects constitution and temperament. Lastly Symbolic Materia Medica, is a bonus of new ways to see homeopathic remedies from the perspective of symbols and myth, which very well may be the best posible expression of our quest for greater wholeness.
