Rating: Summary: Accolades for SoulTalk Review: As the owner of a large furniture dealership in Dallas, Texas, I was looking for new information regarding communication skills dealing in both personal and business relationships. I read SoulTalk and can honestly say that it is the best book ever on communicating and "listening". My entire company has read it and they all feel the same way. This book has helped my organization communicate much more effectively with each other, with their clients and in their personal relationships. I was so impressed with the book that I have formed a Business to Business Women's Group to work through and apply the book, and to help each in our own businesses and networking. Nina is even a part of the group and she has been an incredible asset! I recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their business and personal lifes through better communication skills.

Rating: Summary: Informative, Inciteful, and Inspiring Review: If only I knew then what I know now - the impact of this book, and Nina's 2 preceding books, in my life, is truly immeasurable. Written at a very personal and practical level, her series of books provide the tools, the communication skills, and the clarity of purpose to those seeking deep, fulfilling and loving relationships. Growth, personal discovery, clear communication, healing and love forever multiply that which is possible - and this book shows you how to manifest these in your relationships. Not only are the skills invaluable in personal and close relationships - but are key to improving each and every interaction with others. I had always known and felt there was so much more within me - and these books were the catalyst for the actualization of this inner ability. Eminently more practical than even Dr. Phil's advice - these books are a must read - and "Soul Talk" is a constant reference source that should remain bedside.

Rating: Summary: Soul Talk is for Everyone Review: My wife of twenty years and I are happy to have found Soul Talk. It provides us with insights about our relationship that we had not considered. For example, I had not considered how the words I use might not be processed by my wife in the way I meant them. Our brains are wired differently and the book gives us exercises to practice communication that works. We would recommend each person read the book separately, compare notes by chapter, and then use the information to learn how to talk more effectively to each other. Any relationship will grow through Soul Talk.
Rating: Summary: Possibilities for the Soul Review: Nina really teaches us about communicating in a healthy way. None of the steps are particularly difficult - it's breaking old habits. Her "listening empty" and "intuitive listening" techniques are fantastic and a real reminder to truly hear what the other person is trying to convey. Repeating what you think you have heard in a positive way and not accusatory and ready for rebuttal takes practice. All of these lessons can be applied to any relationship and has helped me deal with those at the office, clients, my son as well as with friends. My husband and I are still practicing! This book is a real gem and not one you give away or place on loan. The worksheets in it are invaluable and you'll want to "dog-ear", underline, and highlight or mark your book for referral later on. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve his or her overall communication skills.

Rating: Summary: Informative, Inciteful, and Inspiring Review: Nina's 3rd book, like the previous two, is full of practical advice on how to create honest, fulfilling relationships. The great incite she has on human behavior and her ideas for enriching the bonds between partners are expressed throughout the book in very understandable and thoughtful language. I continue to relate to so many of her descriptions and scenarios - as if her words were written specifically for me, to aid in my growth, recovery, and discovery. Thank you, Nina.
Rating: Summary: A couple's guide that has depth Review: Soul Talk (check out its website: http://www.soulpartnercoach.com ) starts by talking about "The New Love Relationship", where Atwood argues that modern couples are demanding more from their relationship than their ancestors. She puts into context the reasons for higher divorce rates and the reluctance of modern couples to "settle" for less than an empowering, loving relationship. She argues that this is evidence of the evolution of the human spirit, and that western society is at an important stage of its development. This background sets the stage for learning how to achieve this "New Love Relationship" or "Soul Partnership". She challenges us to be conscious of our interactions with our partner, and then goes on to provide a set of communication tools to achieve and maintain a higher level of intimacy, respect, and love. A book that not only offers a fascinating perspective about the evolution of human relationships, but is also a powerful guide for the modern couple who wants the most from their "Soul Partnership". Not only has this book helped me to connect with my mate, the techniques have also improved my ability to listen and communicate with friends and business associates.
Rating: Summary: A couple's guide that has depth Review: This book has helped me immeasurably. I wish I had read this book when I was younger. It gives practical ways to build and strengthen relationships - not just romantic ones. I have used it in my business and with my children. I particularly liked the parts about "empty listening". I have found those techniques to be very helpful and effective. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in building better relationships with others.
Rating: Summary: Straight-up. A real eye-opener. Review: This is the stuff we all knew intuitively as children but forget by the time we are old enough to appreciate it. Ms. Atwood helps us connect or reconnect with a spouse, a friend, and really anyone else in our lives with the most powerful tool we have at our disposal - our natural and uniquely human ability to communicate.
