Extreme Spirituality: Radical Approaches To Awakening

Review: Was looking forward with great anticipation to this book as I thoroughly enjoyed Tolly's other, Extreme Spirituality: Radical Journeys for the Inward Bound. Very disappointed to receive Awakening and find that it is, word for word, the EXACT same book! The only differences between the two books are the title and the cover of the book. Drat!

AND...THE ANSWER ARRIVED TODAY! In response to my previous review of the book as a duplicate, Mr. Burkan graciously contacted me and explained something that most of us would have absolutely no way of knowing:

There are TWO SEPARATE PUBLISHERS! and thus two separate relationships with Amazon!

How frustrating can that be for ethical authors, especially with fans like me that have been on the waiting list for the "new" book?!

So, while I was admittedly a bit disappointed due to my own anticipation of the the 'next' edition of Extreme, I wholeheartedly HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mr. Burkan's work. Either Extreme is great (just understand that its the same book with a different cover, a different publisher, and a slightly different name.) And to clarify, definitely not something Mr. Burkan should be penalized for as a writer. His work illuminates areas that others only elude to--and its a great read, written by someone who is obviously passionate about what he believes and teaches.

Good news, too, that I want to share with other Tolly Burkan fans: Mr. Burkan's brand new book, Let It Be Easy, is due out in April! (Hooray!!)
