Summary: what kind of mickey mouse crap is this??????????????????????
Review: HEY!!! I'm a male and I happen to love ironing. I have a rather nice supply of starch too. Not that spray can crap, but the concentrated liquid starch which allows me to make the starch as strong as I want. Personally I like my starch heavy because I really like the crisp classic look that only heavy starch can produce. Now you've got to be careful because if you have too much starch you can get flakes as well as the chance of clogging up your iron. Both situations really suck. Now if you don't mind I've got to get back to the kitchen.

Summary: Don't let the title mislead you. The book is amazing.
Review: I could not put this book down. Brain Sex initially laid the groundwork for many of these scientific answers to gender differences. However, she has now been able to better substansiate them, via tons of new research from around the world(citations included in book). I will add that the overall picture that this book develops is quite convincing. I am impressed with the broadness of her research and critique. She and Bill cover many of the the most plaguing current societal issues today: "The glass ceiling", feminists version of "science" eco-feminists and saving the earth, feminisms influence on the American diet, male/female differences of sex drives, relationships and emotional definitions/contrasts/capacities, domestic inclinations/capacities, the list goes on, but you get the idea.

Get The Book!!!

A more realistic gender/sex understanding is already badly needed. This book is definitely a step in the right direction.

Perhaps one day we will live in a society that equally values the comlimentary and compensatory differences between two of God's greatest creations - Man and Woman.

I hope more author's would be so brave. Bravo Anne and Bill Moir!!!

Summary: For Dissertations and Thesis reference only
Review: I don't know what the editor(s) of this book were thinking in terms of the silly way sections end, and certain blanket assertions/assumptions the authors make about society; however, the basic information and research presented are fascinating and important. I wish I felt better about saying everyone should read this thought-provoking book. It would make the world a more humane place for both men and women if more people understood the points this book makes.

Summary: Unimpressed.
Review: I've got a newsflash for the authors....most women don't iron either. Ever hear of wash and wear?

Review: The book is in essence a fascintating collection of gender studies research presented in straightforward and entertaining way. The differences between genders go far deeper than basic biology and socialization. Politically correct this book is not. However science rarely is. Although it isn't the end-all-be-all thesis for true gender thoughtful gender studies, it asks the right questions and provides thought provoking answers.

Summary: Didn't like it from the start
Review: This short review will hardly help anyone, but I had to write something after reading some of this book. In the first chapter, the authors basically come across - even if covertly - as homosexual bashing, and to me, more towards men. Their whole approach, demeanor and disposition are so ludicrous, uncompassionate, unacademic and unjustifiable. I can't believe I was able to get through the environment that they set up in their book; save I keep in mind that these two are *not* experts or scholars in this field whatsoever. After chapter one, I was ready to throw the book out. To any credit, I do give some praise for finding a few interesting things while persuing the rest of the book, though I will not count anything in there as gospel. And I will not read this book in its entirety. If I don't get it sold on Amazon quickly to recoup a little money, it's headed not for the library, but for the landfill.

Summary: Comprehensible and informative
Review: What a relief to read a book based on science, instead of the Marxist propaganda in the New Left's "sociology". Why Men Don't Iron gives a comprehensive look at how human biology has been shaped through the ages by nature's tough demands, which of course determines most of our behavior today whether some people like it or not. Evolutionary psychology, or sociobiology, is always an interesting read, but the authors of Why Men Don't Iron makes it unusually enjoyable by their insightful and varied examples, and the way they combine scientific fact (and common sense) with clear explanations that the layman can understand. Now Westerners, too, can break free from the parenthesis of history that is today's Political Correctness and understand the biological factors that the rest of the world has not forgotten, and that we knew up until the sixties and will know again. I recommend it.

Review: WOW! It is hard to believe that people in the world are so threatened by feminism and homosexual/lesbian rights movements that they would write such rediculous garbage and try to pass it off as legitimate. No, men and women cannot be essentialized, and yes, you do need to do research outside of your homophobic group of friends to write a book like this.
