Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Must Have for Neuropsychologists/Behavioral Neurologists!
Review: This is the most recent edition of an absolutely essential book for neuropsychologists. I am sure that the previous edition got me through some very tough exams! Walsh presents an anatomical/clinical approach. The presentation is on the functions of the primary lobes, but it is not done at all in a piecemeal way - its really quite integrated. The text is extremely well-written, with comprehensive references spanning the history of neuropsychology. His understanding and presentation of some of the field's outstanding figures like Luria - and how he integrates this material is great. Walsh & Darby are clearly scholars, as well as excellent teachers and clinicians. The sections on clinical disorders brings together neuroanatomy/neuropathology, historical conceptions, and test findings in a terrific way. This text doesn't just teach facts; it teaches understanding. Highly recommended!
