Rating: Summary: very good Review: I got this book to use for a paper in my psychology class. This is a very good book, very easy to understand, and also tells some about the author's personal struggle with MS.

Rating: Summary: Immensely readable and compelling. Review: I had the opportunity to read Robert Shuman's book and thought it was wonderful. I found the book inspiring, immensely readable and compelling whether one has a chronic illness, knows someone who does, or may encounter it in some form in the future. On a broader level, the book helps readers think about life and the process of growing
Rating: Summary: A remarkable book. Review: This is a beautifully written book which addresses the harsh realities of chronic illness with sensitivity, intelligence, compassion and an abiding belief in the possibility of remaking a world fractured by the visitation of chronic illness. The author, who himself lives with multiple sclerosis, speaks to all whose lives have been impacted by chronic illness, whether as victim, friend or family member of a victim, co-worker or care-giver. This is a truly remarkable, moving, and wise book which offers the gift of genuine personal healing and hope
