Review: Get this book! I have been living with a liar for 5 years and it feels good to read this book. It gives you advice on what to do, how to confront the liar etc...Most important, the author describes a kind of liar you should absolutely avoid: the sociopath.

Review: I don't understand why or how someone can write a book like this and pretend that only men lie and cheat ! As many women are sociopaths, liars and cheaters as are men. Looking past the sexist attitude, I read the section on sociopaths and a chill went up my spine as it described the first, and God willing, the last sociopath I encountered in my life. I think people need to know about this disease and how to spot a sociopath before they temporarily mess up your life. I wonder how much of sexist attitudes in people help make them sociopaths. The worst thing about being a liar isn't that people don't trust you, it's that you can't trust anyone. If this book was written in a more gender neutral style, it would have been much more interesting and less annoying with the blatant sexism.

Review: I don't understand why the writer only takes the view that only men lie and not women. I found this very disturbing. I expected a much more gender neutral book. Many women lie too.

Review: I found this book to be very useful and it's one of the best I've read on the subject of relationships. Any woman can benefit from this book whether she's in a relationship or not. Another great book which goes hand in hand with this one is NEVER BE LIED TO. That book helped me to recognize that my husband was cheating in the first place. Then this book helped me to deal with it. I'm so pleased that it came out when it did. Everyone woman should read it.

Summary: Wonderful book for help with betrayal
Review: I have been married 18 years and my husband is a liar. When caught and confronted he continues to make promises that are constantly broken. I have left him numerous times, then reconcile after his tearful promises of change. This book will help you work through the many questions you are aking yourself, and help you decide if it is best for you to stay in the relationship or get out! The book has helped me rebuild my confidence and brought clarity to my situation by reading stories from other's who have experienced similar situations and from Dr Susan Forward's wisdom.

Summary: Finally, I can start healing!
Review: I'd really give the book a 4 1/2! It was well worth the price. This is the first book that I've read on this subject but I received it yesterday and could not put it down. So much of what I read has been what I've been living. The information shared allowed me to understand that it happens to ALL kinds of women and that we cannot control what other people do. I am now in the process of truly healing.
The most helpful part of the book was recognizing reasons why they lie. I needed an explanation and Susan provided some possible reasons but came right out and said we may never know exactly why. The chapters that dealt with deciding to stay or leave didn't apply to me, but I read them anyway and I wish I'd had the book a year ago - it would have made a lot of my decision making easier. The only part that I wish had been different is the section on what to do now. The information was very helpful - I just wanted more.

She also reportedly obtained a Ph.D. from Kensington University in Glendale, California, counseled Nicole Brown Simpson on two occasions, and has been quoted saying, "I think that Hillary Clinton has become so comfortable with lying and so comfortable with covering up and protecting her and his stature and position that it's very easy for her, and that's pretty scary."

I think Susan has lots of common sense. I found her book to be a passion. I especially liked the use of the "Reality Check," which was included with the stories about what lies did to her clients. This book was inspiring to read, and I give it five stars.
