Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Lucid presentation of statistical concepts
Review: After sifting through dozens of texts, I thought I would never find one that combined the conceptual clarity of Tal's "Reading Between the Numbers" with the procedural thoroughness found in a traditional introduction to statistics. Then I came across this book. It is exceptionally well-written, and the chapter problems include questions that require thoughtful written responses. The only noticeable omission is significance testing for proportions. But having to go elsewhere if needed for fill-in material is a small price to pay for this gem of a text.

Summary: If you afraid of stats--this it the book for you!
Review: This is a great book for those who are starting out in statistics. The author is able to explain quite difficult statistical concepts in a way the reader will be able to understand.
