Rating: Summary: The Way of Walking: Eastern Strategies for Vitality, etc. Review: Dr. Moramarco's book covers a wide range of topics related to wellness, and explains them in a way that laymen can understand. I have studied martial arts and Tai Chi Chuan for the better part of a decade, often following my teachers through strange exercises and not knowing why. The Way of Walking explains why certain breathing exercises are vital to performance, and greatly aid in improving health. I learned more from this book than from many of my instructors. While I took a lot of usefull information from this book, what really surprised me was my mother's reaction to it. Before I had finished reading it, my mother started flipping through it. After a few minutes she commandeered my copy and took it home. Now my mother couldn't care less about martial arts or Eastern philosophy. But she does care about her health. She read the entire book and high-lighted the sections having to do with nutrition and breathing exercises. She is already starting to implement some of the healthy sugestions in the book, and is even talking about starting Tai Chi. I really can't express how good this book is, both for martial artist and couch potato looking to turn over a new (healthy) leaf. I can only recomend that you read it for yourself.
Rating: Summary: Best exercise/fitness/health book Ive seen in 40 years Review: I am an avid exercise enthusiast from California. I have seen just about every fitness fad and routine in my many years, with my thirst for information on this subject. This book has introduced me to principals and exercises unknown to me that I find incredibly interesting and health enhancing. I have abandoned my current exercise routine and have begun some of Dr. Moramarco's exercises---I feel great! Thank so much, Dr. Moramarco! Norman

Rating: Summary: An Inspirtational & Practical Guide to Fitness & Longevity Review: The Way of Walking is both an inspiratual and a practical guide to physical fitness and longevity. The book articulates the mind/body connection to health and well-being in a way that really motivates me to be serious about this walking program. The information is easy to relate to and absorb. In fact, reading this book is almost like having Dr. Moramarco there with you, helping you to get it right. The demonstration photos are also quite helpful. The Way of Walking describes a system that can work for the novice to the most fit and everyone in between (like me!). You don't need special clothes or equipment. You are not limited by age or physical condition. Having followed this program for just a few months, I feel better than I have in a long time: my legs are stronger, my endurance greater and I'm more optimistic. I'm grateful to Dr. Moramarco for sharing his knowledge and insight in The Way of Walking. I feel this system will be the backbone of my own life-long physical fitness program.
Rating: Summary: An Inspirtational & Practical Guide to Fitness & Longevity Review: This is definately the best book on the subject of walking. Author MoraMarco explains a simple strategy for maintaining health and gives several examples of various styles of walking. Also included are sample programs and resources to look up. I often stress to my patients that walking 20 minutes a day is the best exercise. It circulates the blood, helps burn calories, and can help keep you young. Buy the book as a gift for a loved one. It will definately let them know you care!
