Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: good book Review: This is a really great anthology of scholarly articles on sexuality in colonial latin america. Authors incluse Ruth Behar (Sexual Witchcraft, Colonialism, and Women's Powers), Susan Socolow (Marriage in colonial Argentina), Serge Gruzinski (Confessions among Nahuas in 16th C.). The articles and the authors are diverse. The only criticism I have is that the introduction and some of the articles are excessivels academic. i guess that's to be expected, but sometimes authors are very long-winded. Also, so called alternative sexualities (third gender, homosexuality) could have been explored. I was surprised that there was no mention of homosexuality even in the index. overall, i think it is a great book and really important to understanding the role of sexuality in colonial Mexico.
