Summary: Meditation for Busy and/or Non New Age People
Review: As Ben and Jerry say in the foreword, "if you think it's strange that a couple of guys who make ice cream for a living are writing a foreword for a book like this ... well, then you probably shouldn't be reading a meditation book written by a harmonica teacher in the first place!"

This is indeed an unconventional meditation book. It's all about getting the practical benefits of meditation without any time spent on esoteric new age theories. It shows you how to achieve increased calmness, stress reduction, less need for sleep, more energy, lower blood pressure, greater life appreciation, and greater loss acceptance. It also shows you how to work meditation into a busy lifestyle (hence the name). And it does this all with an interesting sense of humor.

One of the great things about this book is that the author has done the research on many different schools of meditation and describes them all without a particular bias. There are scores of different exercises showing you how to do different kinds of meditations. Meditation is a personal thing, and this book makes it easy to find a method uniquely appropriate to you personality. There is also a great bibliography that lists resources for any particular theory or meditation that may interest you.

This is a great book for beginning meditators as well as for experienced meditators looking for new ways to work meditation into a busy lifestyle.
