Summary: A Great Resource for "Dealing the Cards You've Been Dealt"
Review: I picked up this book thinking that it was just another "self help" type book that might spur some inward thinking and self-analysis. Boy was I surprised! This book is for anyone who needs to deal with emotional baggage and get their thought processes back on track. The exercises at the end of each section are wonderfully therapeutic. I identified closely with a couple of the character profiles at the end. I find that I reflect on the common sense advice the book offers on a daily basis. The author's down-to-earth writing style was refreshing because it does not require the reader to spend additional time deciphering the terminology -- as many of these type of books do! I recommend it highly!

Summary: Wow! For the whole family!
Review: I saw this book in the bookstore and thought it would be a fun read. It was incredible! For once, the author doesn't pretend to be all-knowing and tells it like it is. I really got a lot out of the discovery exercises and can't wait to have my husband and kids read this. My sister is always reading these books too and it'll be great for her to finally get one with ideas she can use.

Summary: Coming out of your shell
Review: Many of us go through life trapped in a real or imaginary shell. Dr. Pendlum takes us on a tour of self-inspection and introspection, walking us through a series of exercises that can help us dissect out of the shell those things we can manage, to lighten that load we self-impose. He helps us face deeply buried fears and to understand what is truly important and what simply doesn't matter. I think of myself as a "normal" person, but from Pendlum's book I regained a balance I had lost, a new sense of mission. I have bought another copy for a loved cousin who needs to understand how good and wonderful she really is, that she is not a failure in life, but indeed a great success. David Pendlum's success story is one to which we can all relate.
