Summary: Well-thought out and expressed, and yet?
Review: I *will* probably quote from this book in the future. I * have * already mentioned this book to my friends. The truth is in there--nasty but accurately expressed. If you're already of a slightly negative bent--this book might straighten you; if you're an incureable optimist, it just might fix you. But all the same, I can't exactly say it's all news to me. Once you read it, you may well find yourself thinking the same--but will you like yourself when you do? It's a thought-provoker, and fun.

Summary: good night mister hyatt
Review: negative? dark? is it? not really! its a simple book. very simple. especially for mr hyatt whom we know as an insightful and inspired author about magick and related fields. now: this book is all bleak and boring old darwinism. is mister hyatt getting old? frustrated? or did he simply wanted to publish some easy provocations leading to easy money? sad. really. the real psychopath says: non serviam mr hyatt; not this time. christians and other worms may be dutifully shocked out of their little whits by this tired «bible». but - heeeee - mr hyatt thats not the audience your writing for. the beast yawns... we hope that mr hyatt catches himself - before he falls into the bottomless pit of pseudo-psychological boredom...

Summary: doot doot dooty doo
Review: OK, Hyatt can write some good books, but if you're interested in psychopaths, I suggest the book _ THE EMPTIED SOUL _ which is probably much more to the point... if you think about it. Hyatt is in the same vein as RAWilson (good at raising an eyebrow and consideration)...

But, for the most enlightening reading possibly EVER (and I've read a lot of this kind of stuff), I seriously suggest the following books by Ramsey Dukes:

S.S.O.T.B.M.E. (Sex Secrets of The Black Magician Exposed! [the title is a joke]) - seriously, the best book ever to put your mind in order regarding science, philosophy, art and "magic" (for lack of a better word). This is THE MOST important book I have ever read. FYI, I pretty much am interested in sociology, psychology, self-help... and... I have an interest in "reality" (science vs. "magic"). This book clarifies the actual thought processes that go into BELIEF. For this reason, it is THEEEEEE most important book I've ever read.

Thundersqueak - This is the follow-up to SSOTBME. Please read it AFTER.

Also, for those who are seriously conflicted, psychologically, theologically and otherwise, I would recommend the following 2 very important self-help books, which are simple enough for teenagers, but important and all-inclusive enough to replace 100's of other books on the same subject, including (especially?) all religious texts:

• Taming Your Gremlin by Rick Carson

and

• The Magic of Believing by Claude M. Bristol (I suggest the [$$$] version because the cheaper and smaller [$$$] version has poor layout and painfully squished-together text which will interfere with your concentration).

That's it. If you want to read the Psychopath's BIble because you "identify" with the negative aspects of life, go for it. But, just remember: negativity isn't positive for YOU or for others. It's sometimes an easier-seeming DIRECTION to follow, but down the road, this direction paves it's own way against the grain (and that does not make life easier in the least!)

Summary: Psychopath's Babble
Review: Read this book if you need proof that a Phd is no measure for intelligence. Never loose sight that what is being delivered in this book is always in service to the author's complusions. The subject matter is not understood by the author.

Review: The stupidity of this book really shines through to someone who's lived with a psychopath. I thought the one who lived with me was an idiot! Gotta hand it to him, though - he got my $13. Thanks for reminding me where I am on the food chain.

Summary: potential for fun
Review: this book would have been way more interesting if there'd been a lot of publicity. Hyped it up so that few people bother to read the minimal content (there's some) but tonnes bother to a) rant on about how cool and life shattering it is (right! Yeah!) and b) rant on about how it's evil and a danger to our children. Then the hystiria would have been worth it. As it stands it is alright, but leaves a lot of room for improvement.

Summary: An Interesting Book For Research Or Those In Denial
Review: This is an updated review for this book.

If one is doing research on psychopathy, this book could be very interesting indeed.

I don't believe that psychopaths are to be revered or that we should emulate them (one is either a psychopath or is not anyway), but this book could serve as good fodder for those who are studying psychopathy.

I was not shocked by the statements made by the author, as I know many people exist who share his viewpoints.

The book is just basically an overview on the viewpoints of the psychopath. We are told what it's like to see through the psychopath's eyes. Psychopaths have no regard for others, they see death and destruction everywhere about them, human beings are too be mocked and used and then destroyed.

The only thing I cannot imagine, is, why a self-proclaimed psychopath would be putting his secrets out in the open for.

At any rate, good book for research, or just for those who are in denial that such people exist in our society.

They do.

Summary: not nearly as radical or disturbing as it claims
Review: While short and fairly entertaining, the author seems to be more impressed with himself than he should be. Many claims are totally unsupported generalizations; the perspective is similar to that given in The Satanic Bible, but I'd say that LaVey said it better and more explicitly. Other similar perspectives may be found in Colin Wilson's writings on crime and the criminal mind.

Summary: An insult to one's intelligence
Review: While this book is an interesting read, so much of it is an insult to one's intelligence. The author begins by setting the premise that this book is only for those who can handle it, those of superior intelligence and courage not to stop reading.
That is enough to make anyone with a higher education stop reading after the introduction. Many of its revelations are just Psych-101 and would not hold the interest of trained professionals or anyone familar with pathologies.
