Summary: No new information
Review: As the spouse of a cancer patient, and admittedly more pragmatic than "new age" I was dissapointed that this book doesn't add anything new to the Iscador information available from the major cancer sites on the web. It is mostly a rehash of older information with some notes on other alternative therapy and diet. It only gives very brief mention of the one significant english language study report that supports the use of Iscador. (Also available on the web)

If it is your only source of information then it is a start, if you have done any of your own research, don't bother.

Summary: Iscador - Gift of the Mistletoe
Review: How glad I am to see an intelligent and artful presentation of Iscador! As a person who has been using Iscador for over 3 years to treat breast cancer (instead of chemotherapy)I have been appalled at how difficult it is to find reliable and clear information about this substance which has been used for over 75 years in Europe. You will learn about how mistletoe is grown, harvested and manufactured as well as some of the historical uses of it. It is helpful to see statistics over the 75 years of use in Europe and as well, to learn more about the anthroposophical approach to illness. The book helps to open up the philosophical basis for Iscador therapy since so much more is involved than simply taking Iscador itself. The book clearly presents what a therapeutic approach might look like while making it absolutely clear that each individual will have a different total therapy. I know that this kind of healing therapy will become a vital option for more and more people. Iscador is also used as a preventative for pre-cancerous conditions and I know people will want to use it for its tremendous strengthening effects. So bravo and thank you Christine Murphy!

Summary: Mistletoe Treatment of Cancer - A New Approach
Review: The book "Iscador" by Christine Murphy, Editor, fills a much needed gap. It presents the mistletoe treatment of cancer, very widely used in Middle Europe, to the English-speaking audience in an easily readable format. Iscador has its well-researched place as an extension of the conventional treatments into the holistic approach developed by Anthroposophical Medicine. In this context, it proves to be a unique possibility to enhance the cancer-fighting responses of the immune system, rather than to suppress them, as most conventional treatments do. The book covers in a well-organized presentation many frequently asked questions and leads up to a view of integrative healing that addresses the human life of body, soul and spirit. Informative are lists of references for the reader, who is interested in the scientific research and in hospitals, where mistletoe treatment is available.- I recommend this book highly to patients, doctors and friends.
