Summary: A useful tool in establishing fashions from the period.
Review: I have found this a useful book, particularly in establishing the types and styles for costuming my dolls. The authors have taken a wide variety of patterns from the period and compiled the pictures and descriptors into one book. Original weights and types of material, plus a brief explanation of the designs are helpful, but from a sewing perspective, explanations of some of the more unusual techniques used in construction are missing. Here, the authors could have added their own expertise and increased the overall value of the book. An index would have been particularly useful but has not been included.
