Rating: Summary: a great read for the fitness minded Review: The authors provide an easy read for any individual interested in starting a fitness program. A great book for athletes looking to enhance their current training programs. I definietly reccommend it to anyone looking to gain knowledge in the areas of physiology, training, and fitness. Any personal trainer, or individual in the health field can gain some great insight from this book. An easy read with with great pictorials and charts to help you out.
Rating: Summary: nice book for sports training Review: The first part of the book starts by telling you more about the muscles (muscle types, how muscles are build up etc) and then explaining topics like volume work, different types of training like muscular endurance etc. Teh you read some more about functional flexibility. In the second part there are the exercises shown for the muscles of the upper body and the third part goes more in detail about conditioning. Also shown are some intermediate and advanced programs. What I do like is that it are not zillion exercise programms but short functional programms which can be inluded in a sportstraining program. If you want to become big then read the very excellent books beyond brawn and dinosaur training. (these 2 books are for me rated 10 stars). But this book is a nice manual which you can include for sports training instead of just body building.
