Review: A one-stop singles' resource from two single women who believe that dating should be celebratedÃnot maligned.reviewed by Amy DurganThe dating life is given a bum rap by married couples and singles alike. It's all too easy to forget how exciting it can be to meet someone new who makes you feel all swimmy inside, even when you're alone in a bathrobe eating from a pint of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Comfort. Which is why Leah and Elina Furman, two single sisters, wrote The Everything Dating Book: How to Meet New People, Where to Go and What to Say & Make the Most of Every Date! This handy guidebook doesn't give you a formula or rules to follow. The authors don't claim to be experts, just single women who believe that dating should be celebrated rather than maligned. as they suggest, the single life can be the most exciting time of lifeÃyou never know whom you'll meet at the bus stop or on your computer screen.Since the dating years are also a great time to get to know yourself, the authors maintain, the first part of the book helps readers discern who their perfect match may be by exploring values and interests through fun quizzes. Do you fit your own high standards? Or are you impeding a relationship because you're too picky or don't know what you're looking for in a mate? Power FlirtingOnce you get to know yourself better than you thought possible, it's time for the pursuit. The Everything Dating Book not only suggests hundreds of places where you can meet potential dates, it also gives outfit and grooming suggestions and has exercises to boost self-esteem. After all, self-confidence is sexy. Now that you've got your eye on the prize, you can benefit from the power flirting strategies and surefire pick-up lines laid out in the bookÃif you can stomach uttering them (the authors swear by these lines!) They even explain how seal the deal, or if you're not so lucky, recover gracefully from rejection. The guide's most unique feature is a comprehensive and inventive date planner, which you can use for any lifestyle or budget. Each date idea includes a checklist of what to do, bring, and wear, and suggestions for a Plan B, if necessary. And an entire chapter is devoted to dating safety tips. Finally, this one-stop singles' resource has advice for new couples, such as buying the appropriate birthday gift, meeting his parents, and combating jealousy and insecurity about your date's ex. If the way to your honey's heart is his stomach, the guide's got meal plans, easy recipes and wine suggestions for candlelight dinners at home, too.Loaded with ideas and information (including dozens of URLs), The Everything Dating Book will teach you "the art of acquiring a taste for being single," while bringing you closer to finding that someone special.

Summary: Great book, lots of helpful tips
Review: This book is fun to read and offers lots of great advice. My only complaint about this book is that the authors recommend several "tips" that involve dishonesty. If you can weed out the few bad tips, then book is very helpful.

Summary: Great book, lots of helpful tips
Review: This book should be titled "The Everything Wrong Dating Book." The authors give lots of advice, and it's all 180 degrees wrong.
