Summary: Dreams are the forgotten road to heaven.
Review: Harold Klemp's book explains that dreams are your gateway to the inner worlds. He than shares over 50 tips and spiritual exercises to show you how to understand, remember and use your dreams. If you follow the guidlines in the book, they do work. I told my cousin about the book who could almost never remember dreams and he was amazed that he started having vivid dream recall with a direct connection to everyday life. This is the best dream book out there! It gives you specific information on how to remember your dreams and actually do dream travel or soul travel. It is one of the best books I have ever read. I keep it by my bed and do a spiritual exercise before going to sleep. It is truly an adventure!

Summary: This is the most thorough and comprehensive book on dreams.
Review: Harold Klemp's new book The Art of Spiritual Dreaming clearly demonstrates why he is considered one of the leading authorities in the world today on the spiritual nature of dreams.

Author Harold Klemp, makes three reassuring points to today's reader: 1) God loves you, 2) God speaks to you often, 3) You can learn to hear God's "voice" through the forgotten language of dreams. It goes beyond the ordinary dream book. It places spiritual dreaming in its rightful place at the center of the whole subject of dreams.

He goes on to explain there is an ancient tradition about the spiritual nature of dreams. The Old Testament gives examples of dreams and waking visions, affirming these as ways that God provides personal direction and guidance.

Author Harold Klemp has been at the forefront of the trend toward exploring the spiritual nature of dreams for the last decade and a half. His view holds that dreams are of divine origin. They are a portal to spiritual worlds and bear messages and prophetic insights from God.

So what is spiritual dreaming? "Dreams are like a daily report card," says Klemp, "They show how you are doing in your spiritual mission, even if you don't know you have one. Dreams tell how you are getting on in your relationship with God and life.

In The Art of Spiritual Dreaming, Harold Klemp reaffirms that dreams are a divine gift. He offers readers of all faiths and backgrounds proven techniques to assist them in using dreams to discover spiritual meaning and purpose in life."

Harold Klemp-the spiritual leader of Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God-is one of the foremost advocates of spiritual dreaming in the world today. He draws upon his own insights and experiences, as well as those of many other spiritual dreamers whose personal adventures fill the pages of his new book.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone new or familiar with the significance of dream study. It is the most thorough and comprehensive book I have ever read on dreams. A must read.

Summary: Worth Its Weight in Gold
Review: I actually had this book on my shelf for more than a year before I picked it up to read it. For years, my dream recall had been spotty, and my understanding of those I did remember was poor. Then I started reading this gem of a book. With a few simple techniques, I have not only increased my recall to one or more dreams a night, I'm starting to extract the wisdom within them. I even went back to review "unintelligible" dreams and realized some were prophetic! Some were extremely practical, and some helped me get over bad attitudes I was harboring. I have gotten clear guidance, guidance that is worth its weight in gold! To think I nearly missed it!

In addition to being a helpful handbook on dream recall and understanding, Art of Spiritual Dreaming is a "how to" book, giving tips on setting yourself up for success. Here are a few gems I put to use right away: Ask specific questions before going to sleep, then look at whatever comes through in light of your question. Set the alarm early so you don't have to jump out of bed in the morning. Linger in the dream world. Maybe even re-write the ending. Look at the dream from different angles. Is it telling me where I stand spiritually? Is it prophecy? Is it instructing me on something you may need soon?

I love the way this book is laid out. It's easy to pick an exercise to try because they are boxed and clearly labeled. If one exercise doesn't work, there are plenty more to try. The style of writing is straightforward and uncluttered. It's open; putting the test of validity in my own hands. Does it work for me or not?

Dreams played such an important part in the lives of those who wrote the Bible. They are our spiritual legacy. What a shame that this incredible communication between ourselves and the Divine has been lost in our culture. The Art of Spiritual Dreaming helps us to reclaim our direct connection with God.

Summary: Have an open mind.
Review: I have been interested in dream interpretation since I was very young, and have read many books on the subject. This one is the best one I have read, by far. It goes beyond simple symbology which can become muddled and superficial, and shows you how you can take part in your dreams and use them for the betterment of your own life, spiritually and physically.

One thing that is important to know before buying this book is that it's based on ancient teachings that have been gathered into a religion called Eckankar. Those who have no tolerance for broader ways of looking at spirituality will probably be quick to attack this book. Alternate ways of thinking can be scary to some, but Eckankar is a completely valid religion once a person is ready and able to explore ideas they are not used to. Those who are already interested in Eckankar, especially the dream concepts of the religion, will most likely enjoy this book. It is a good introduction to Eckankar, especially hand in hand with the small book, "ECKANKAR- Ancient Wisdom for today".

Summary: More Dogma From Eckankar and Klemp
Review: James Davis wrote one of these 5 star reviews of this book, but has since dropped out of Eckankar, and has told me that he has changed his opinion of Klemp and of Eckankar. This book contains a lot of dogma and expects the reader to believe in the masters created by Paul Twitchell in 1965. Rebazar Tarzs is one such "Master" that is actually Twitchell's former Master Sri Kirpal Singh of Radhasoami Satsang. Rebazar is a corner stone for Eckankar because without him there is no validity of Mahantaship for the two former leaders and the current leader Twitchell, Gross, and Klemp.

Klemp plants the seeds of Eck masters in the mind of the reader and gives techniques so that the reader will "experience" for themselves "proof" of their existance. Actually, the mind will create constructs (images and concepts) and will use filters to interpret reality as it is willing to see and experience It. One does not need a mahanta or master outside of their own higher self or God-soul to experience the realities of the higher planes of God or of ALL THAT IS. This is only one thing, of many, that is hidden from the reader. The Mahanta of Eckankar seeks spiritual dependency for its members through complete surrender for protection, guidance, and reliance in all matters and on all planes. Therefore, spiritual freedom only becomes a catch (22) phrase to the members of this innocent looking religion.

Also, if you have already read one book by this author you can save your money on this one. His books are all alike... no new info here.

Summary: More Dogma From Eckankar and Klemp
Review: This book draws heavily on the teachings of Eckankar. It is, in fact, put out by their press, and takes most of its case histories from ECK practitioners. Clearly, the book is intended to lead people to practice ECK. As I am not a practitioner of that Path, I cannot evaluate it in those terms. I will say, however, that it has some excellent techniques for developing your "dream memory," learning from your dreams, soul travel, meeting spiritual masters in dreams, fending off psychic attacks, etc. -- if you are able to translate the ubiquitous references to ECK into those of your own religion or Path. (For example, instead of chanting "Hu" as the ECK people do, I chant Hebrew mantras.) The book also includes some material on understanding past-life dreams, which is probably why I received a review copy (I have written three books on reincarnation, all available here in Amazon). For those who practice ECK or one of the Eastern or New Age philosophies, this would be a most helpful book. For myself, I prefer something more theologically neutral.
