Rating: Summary: **HOLY COW** Review: Finally!!! Someone tells it like it is! All of the situations the author speaks of, I can totally relate to. However, am I guilty of sometimes being a COW? Yes....as are you. We all can use a lesson in stopping to think before we "act or speak" in such a way that it negatively affects others. Or how about dealing with someone who just won't be quiet and insists on mouthing off continuously? Well, this book will not only help you to deal with it, but hopefully put an end to "allowing" this form of COW behavior. I actually reference this book about once a week for the purpose of helping the "COWS" in my life. Very practical material.
Rating: Summary: You're Not the Only One on This Planet! Review: I am not a big reader of any books. I rather spend my time doing anything but reading. I have to say though when I saw this book something told me to get it. I bought it and I realized that I just couldn't put it down. Doctor Mayer speaks of the COWs in our lives (people who think way to much of themselves) and gives us different ways to approach each situation. Certain senerios and approaches are very funny and entertaining even though they should be seriously considered. Think of it this way, what should you really do when someone leaves their dog's dung on your lawn? Get this book, you won't be disappointed. You might realize the COWs in your life that you never noticed before.
Rating: Summary: You won't Put it Down Review: I bought this book and the first night I had it I started to look at the COWs Mayer had in the book and I literally couldn't put it down!! I read one story...then another...then I wanted to see what he said about the next subject and before you know it I had read just about the whole book. It is very entertaining and informative....it's witty and it makes you think. I hope many, many people read this book and get behind it because we need to change the world we live in for the better. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK AND TIP THE COWs OF THE WORLD. I live in New York City and I have discivered we have great herds of cattle (COWs) thanks to Dr. Mayer. Who would have thought we had such large herds of COWs in Manhattan, but Mayer has given me a new name for all the rude, obnoxious people on this island. AND...I now know what to do about all these COWs.
Rating: Summary: You're not the only one on this Planet!: Observations on the Review: I met the author at a book signing in Colorado and there was a crowd of people around him laughing so I had to see what all the comotion was about. We all shared stories of bad, rude behavior inflicted upon us. I HAD TO HAVE THE BOOK after that. I brought it home and couldn't put it down. I had to keep reading what Mayer had to say about this...then that...then something else. I love his solutions, so its not just about pointing these things out he tells you about what to do about these COWS. Everyone should read this book. I can't wait for the next edition.
Rating: Summary: LOL- and a much needed book for all ages! Review: This is a humorous and insightful book that is appropriate for all ages. It shines the spotlight of curacy upon social offenders and empowers its readers to take action and participate in achieving a civilized society. It provides clear examples of behaviors that are manifested by people who believe that they are the Center of the World (Cows [where does he get such great materials?]) in that they conduct their lives as if the greater part of society exists to serve only them. It then gives sound and practical advice on how we- the humble servants of such truly lofty and important individuals- can give them a solid wake-up call to alert them to the fact that they are a only a part of society- and not the sole reason that society exists. In this book, such people range from the Dr., who can not even keep his or her won scheduled appointment (as if time is a commodity only to the medical profession and a luxury to the rest of us) to the stinky slob who sits next to you on the airliner (who perhaps believes that haw or her B.O. is the high priced fragrance that our noses should rise in delight to detect.) The message of this book is that we all create society: either by our own COW like actions, or by failing to correct the COW like actions of others. In response to this book, I have bought several copies to give as gifts to the COWS in my life. And I do mean "gift", not only to them, but to society in general, by helping them change their behaviors and make this country a more civilized place for all of us. The best part is, they never need to know who gave it to them. (Unless they read this review)...
