Rating: Summary: Book Description / From the Author Review: Book Description: TRANSCEND THE AGING PROCESS blends the knowledge of science with the insight of spirituality to address the issue of aging from a fresh viewpoint. Groundbreaking research in cellular biology has proven that cell behavior is controlled not by our genes, but by our perceptions of (and reactions to) the environment. This research validates the spiritual concept that each of us creates our own reality-including how we experience the aging process. Age-related degeneration is not programmed into us; it happens because we create it...and we have the power to make a different choice.Anet Paulina offers an approach much broader in perspective than the recommendations of both conventional medical and natural health experts. It includes practical information on a variety of effective rejuvenating practices, but the core idea is to fundamentally alter the way you view aging. By realigning your beliefs about the aging process, you can achieve tangible improvements in health, physical appearance, and mental performance. Perhaps best of all, you can finally be free from fears about getting older. From the Author: Until now, scientists (and most of us) have viewed the physical body as much like an automobile you were randomly assigned-the best you can do is keep it running as well as possible as it gradually falls apart with age. My intention is to help you become aware that there is an alternative to the dismal path you've seen so many people (possibly your own parents) follow. TRANSCEND THE AGING PROCESS presents an alternative viewpoint: that by changing the way you perceive your body and realizing that you are in control of its condition, you can dramatically alter the way you experience aging.
Rating: Summary: Inga W. Tomasino Review: If you are at a place of discovering your own inner strength then Transcend the Aging Process is a book to get. This book allows you to examine and experience where you are at and where it can take you through your own beliefs.
Rating: Summary: Goes way beyond the typical "anti-aging" recommendations... Review: Of all the anti-aging books out there (and I've read or thumbed through at least a dozen of them), TRANSCEND THE AGING PROCESS is the only one I've seen that offers anything really new and different on the subject. It goes beyond the usual anti-aging advice of eat right, don't smoke, etc. Anet Paullina's unique yet integrated approach of addressing physical aging "from the inside out" may stretch some people's beliefs, but considering recent discoveries in quantum physics and cellular biology, it makes a lot of sense. The research findings on DNA are truly mind-blowing-the information in Chapter 1 alone is worth the price of the book.
The book has useful information on everything from self-acceptance to skin care. I think the practical techniques presented also have merit in modifying any other beliefs that you no longer want to influence your life, and thus transcend dealing with the aging phenomena alone.
This book (unlike some other popular anti-aging books) is not trying promote a line of expensive anti-aging products or supplements. The diet and nutrition info makes more sense than anything I've ever seen in a diet book, and I really liked the chapter on simplifying. I'd never thought of clutter as having anything to do with aging before!
It's well written, innovative, interesting, and inspiring. I'm sending copies to my friends for their birthdays!
Rating: Summary: transcending the aging process Review: Reviewed by E.J. Vajda
As our society has become increasingly "youth-oriented" over the past few decades, our beliefs about aging have remained essentially unaltered and unchallenged. This results in a population with an unhealthy, negative attitude about something it regards as naturally inevitable. It also leads to the expenditure of large sums of money and effort on "beauty aids" and procedures designed to "repair" the visible effects of aging. This new book offers a dramatically fresh approach to concerns about getting older. It harnesses the notion of positive thinking in pursuit of the goal of remaining youthful in both mind and body. Based on new research suggesting that cell behavior can be controlled by our willpower rather dictated inexorably by inborn genetic limitations, author Anet Paulina shows the reader how the strength of attitude and sincere belief can help us take charge of our own body's inner health and fitness to a degree not generally acknowledged before. The youth-fostering practices she suggests are easy to follow and generally free of charge. Even readers who are skeptical about the validity of this author's basic claim will find much of practical value in her book. The discussion of anti-aging remedies and procedures - both traditional and spiritual - is extremely lucid, scientifically well informed, and logically balanced. Anyone who seeks to gain a more positive sense of their own physical destiny will certainly achieve it by considering the ideas so eloquently laid out in this book. Highly recommended for both the curious and the committed, as well as for both young and old and anyone in between.
Rating: Summary: Something for everything here. Review: This book is wonderful! Don't be fooled by the title into thinking that this is simply another book for older people who want to be 20 again. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Anet has taken information and ideas from as diverse areas as health and wellness, cellular biology and New Age thought and woven them into a coherent and logical concept that has something for everyone. Her conversational, readable style makes this book difficult to put down, and when you finally do you will think to yourself, 'of course! Why didn't i think of that?'
The depth of research and the depth of thought that went into writing this book are evident on every page. You will not regret reading this excellent work.
