Lady Silver IS a lineaged Witch and a Wiccan Priestess. She is very knowledgable. You all complain that it's all fluff, and real Witches write their own spells anyway... Ms. RavenWolf is writing these books for the BEGINNER...the person who needs a little help, the "new" Witch who needs a little help when it comes to composing a spell...I use her spells as templates, I never copy them word for word, and if you actually READ her words you'd realize that she recommends people to alter them to their specific goals anyway... And why must the Craft be so cold, and serious all the time...what's wrong with making it fun from time to time? Silver RavenWolf is my favorite Craft author and I will continue to buy her books, supporting her. As she promises, "If you keep reading, I'll keep writing." So if you don't like her books you've only yourselves to blame if you keep reading them.Blessed Be, MoonHawk

Call me old fashioned, but I come from a different age of witches, an age that reveres the Old Ways. This new mish-mosh of garbage is so misleading. While witchcraft is our birthright, using the power greedily for one's own prosperity is very selfish indeed. Please, if you are new to wicca, witchcraft, or paganism, stay away from every book Ravenwolf has written. Better yet, look into the books by Raymond Buckland, Scott Conningham, and Amber K.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: An interesting book for the weak minded Review: First of all, when you cast a spell, even the simpilest of ones, you are altering the Universe, and changing what would have happened to your own ends. It's a dangerous work, and not to be played around with. Silver hasn't explained this in any of her books; she sugar coats things, and never fully explains to the student what it is exacly that their doing. Even when doing something as simple as this the student needs at least some understanding of Universal energies and the consiquences of dabbling with those energies. This is something this book does not explain to you, and it is dangerous to cast even these idiotic spells if you do not understand what's going on. If you really want to be a Witch, here's what you should do: study your own energies: sexual, physical, and emotional, the Universe, the world, the planets, etc; study geometry, and life and death, and the power of the human mind and belief. Then you will be ready to cast these spells, but most likely by that time you won't need to, and you'll think yourself idiotic for ever trying. Wake-up to what's really going on around you. If you want prosperity, start pacing yourself and thinking about the here and now. If you think that this book will help you prosper, think of this: all magick is is your mind focusing its energies on a certain goal so that goal is accomplished. You can do it without buying this book; focus your mind by yourself, and don't cast any spells, but instead focus yourself to do your work well, put yourself out and open to anything, organize yourself, and study the world around you. It will help. Good luck: Crow Crowley

Silver points out the fact that you can use your inner engery to work spells that will help you get through hard times in life without harming anyone in the process. That is a true wiccan...harm none, do what ye will. These spells can really help people and they are not harming anyone or making someone selfish or greedy. We could all use this book. I love Silver's work and I will continue to purchase all of her spell books.

I find that many "Wiccan" books are strict, condescending and lacking in direction and explanation of their spells. What a relief to read this book and find not only that the spells are practical, with easy-to-find ingredients, but for some spells, she also includes the history of some magic signs with footnotes. So far, this is the best book of practical magick I have come across for its' information, practicality and open-mindedness. I recommend this book to everyone who isn't stuck on the fact that this lady published a magick book and they didn't.

Review: I honestly don't understand why so many people bash Silver Ravenwolf - the books that I have read by her so far have been practical and informative. Plus, it's refreshing to read a book by an author with a sense of humor. As for this particular book, again, I thought it was excellent. She emphasizes obtaining your goals by only harming none, so what's the big deal? One religion that states prosperity and success are evil is Christianity - and from reading some of these reviews it seems that many people have carried this mindset over into Wicca - which is unfortunate. My advice - read it and judge for yourself!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Prosperity with a wave of the wand! Review: I purposely choose to read and review this book for many reasons, one of them being my own personal distaste for the cookbook-style of many Wiccan authors, Ms RavenWolf included among them. I believe that the emphasis given to ready-made spells in these books distracts the honest seeker of wisdom from finding the beauty in the Wiccan spiritual path. I think that books of spells offer those in pain or need the allure of a quick fix to their problems. This is not to say that I don't think spells work. Of course, they work, but not because you use this candle or that oil and this particular time of day and chant these particular words. The magick of a Wiccan spell is not in the tools, the chants, the planetary energies. The true magick is within the Witch, nurtured and grown through many years of spiritual discipline. Real magick is hard work. Now you may be thinking: "Gee, Marsha really musta hated this book!" Well you'd be wrong on that one. I can't say I loved this book and I won't say I'd recommend it to beginner's on the Wiccan or other magickal path who don't have any idea what a magickal correspondence is, but for those who have been working the path for awhile this little book offers some easily adaptable and refreshing approaches to manifesting prosperity for the good of all and in accordance with free will. My favorite spell of the book is the Magic Bill Box pp. 146-152. No, the box doesn't make your bills magically disappear or be paid in full - darn it all anyway! In constructing the box, you get a chance to really thinking about your bills, where they come from, why you need them in your life at this time, what lesson are you learning from them. You also create a very special and attractive storage space to keep your bills organized. I'm not a particularly arts & crafts person, but the charm of creating this special box, empowering it as an aid to control my expenditures, tickles the fancy of my Younger Self much more than the unbelievably dull process of logging them into the financial section of my planner and storing them in the back pocket until it's bill paying day. Silver sprinkles practical hints for managing your finances more effectively throughout the book, such as her discussion of "Do I Really Need It" pp. 174-176 and "The Ebb and Flow of Your Money" pp. 69-75. She encourages the reader to really begin to think about what manifesting prosperity and achieving abundance really means on an individual basis. Sure we'd all love to have a million dollars tax free, but what would having all that money really mean to our lives. How much is enough? When is it too much? Is it really things that we lack or is it something deeper inside that leaves us feeling overwhelmed with debt.
