He has outlined the etiologies, key symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of each disease. Millions of Americans who suffer from these fatigue diseases will benefit from reading his simple yet thorough explanations. I also liked the way Dr. Forester related the physical etiology to spiritual etiology. He points out that our body's health is governed by the connection of our mind, body and spirit. Physicians as well as sufferers will benefit from reading this book.

He has been my primary care physician through kidney cancer, Legionaires, allergies, fibromyalgia, and CFIDS. If you have CFIDS, please do not give up!!!In the past 7 years, I have experienced all the ups and downs of CFIDS and fibromyalgia. This book and the prayerful, caring treatments recommended by Dr. Forester, have saved my life and helped me to live a full and joyful life again. I am now able to teach school, ride horses, give riding lessons, clean stalls, and pick up hay. However, when it comes to housework I feel the CFIDS coming back (HA!)
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is not fatigue Review: I believe Jonathan Forester is very sincere in his faith and the mind-body-spirit connection is important. However, the title of the book says it all: Conquering Chronic Fatigue: ... Chronic fatigue and fatigue syndromes are not the same as the neurological disorder with the discrete medical name of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). It concerns me that a doctor does not make the distinction even when it is medical school 101. "Chronic fatigue" is indeed prevalent in our society and in medical terms the modifier "chronic" simply means of six months duration or longer. But, it is not a disease. If it were, most of the world population would have keeled over centuries ago. "Chronic fatigue," in medical usage is a common symptom of many grave illnesses such as cancer, renal failure, liver disease, and CFS, but in and of itself it is not diagnostic of any specific disease process. As noted in one of the book reviews, medical science doesn't know what causes CFS. That's history - literally. For centuries diseases have been assigned various causes: bad air, demons, bad blood, but as medical science has progressed more and more answers have been found. Medical science doesn't know what causes rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, or migraines either, but medical research continues with all of these biological illnesses, just as in CFS. And since even researchers generally need a little help, a prayer for the success of these medical researchers would be just what the doctor ordered.

He has hit the nail on the head and been able to zero in on the magnitude of pain in my body for over 20 years and attack the problem itself. Chronic Fatigue and fibromyalgia can be devastating to our bodies. When you can finally understand how these affect our daily lives and what we can do to fight the diseases, there is hope. I thank God for Dr. Forester and his God given talents in medicine. I highly recommend this book and the doctor who put his heart and time into helping others.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Living was too hard. Review: I met Dr. Forester in late 2002. I had been sick for about seven years. The pain in my whole body was excrusiating and exhausting. The main focus of my days was to try to live successfully for the next hour, without wallowing in self pity. I am an interior designer, and for all practical purposes, I could not work. The highlight of my day was falling asleep at night so that I could rest for a little while without pain. Dr. Forester and his staff were compassionate and caring. Dr. Forester kept testing and trying everything to figure out what was wrong. Then, one night in February of 2003 he called my home. He had just received my tests back which were positive for lyme disease. I cried for hours-happy tears. There finally was a name for what was wrong. Almost immediately, the pain responded to the antibiotics. That was 9 months ago. There have been ups and downs-but continual improvement. I have my life back. There's no miracle cure (outside of a miracle by the Lord Jesus Christ), but I am getting better. I do not deal with the constant, severe pain that was my companion every moment. I am getting well.
