Rating: Summary: PERMISSION TO CRASH Review: Geoffrey Rose's new book; "When you reach the end of your rope....let go!" is not just another self help book on the bookshelf, to be abandoned after a few pages when it becomes clear that there's no 'magic fix' to life. What I especially liked about this book, is the fact that the author makes himself very vulnerable to his reader. The word 'empathy' came to mind a lot while reading through the anecdotes and stories that Dr. Rose shares with us. He shows us that there truly is life after letting go off the rope, or, better yet, that the only real life out there is precisely after you let go off it. He encourages us to go down into the cellar of our subconscious mind, where the demons live, kept cool and fresh, alive and well. He gives us practical tools, to examine the demons, and translate them into 'unprocessed information' from childhood, so that after all, the door can open widely, and the sunlight can come in. Rose, who in his daily life works as a counselor and therapist, gives us plenty of case studies and observations that will ring true and enlighten and often entertain most of us. His book gives us permission to 'fall', and helps you discover that there's life after the crash, and maybe even a better, more joyful one.... I highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a real guide into the inner workings of his psyche...to satisfy the curiosity of the mind, as a road map, or to just increase the quality of one's life...

Rating: Summary: A great new tool! Review: I have just finished reading this great book, and highly recommend it to those that are knowledgeable about and aware of the incredbile tools of muscle testing (applied kineasology) Unfortunately, this tried and true method continues to be a secret among even the well versed self-help masses--the power of the subconcious and need to access/release/re-program it have all been scientifically understood, and through these methods, proven to work. I found the case studies inspiring and fun to read. As a practitioner myself, I have seen profound change with those I have worked with, and was eager to learn how to accurately do this to myself. Dr. Rose's examples and suggestions were easy to follow and quite insightful. I'm also looking forward to using a few of his ideas in my work with others. In short, thanks! A great new addition in the toolbox for those who want to create change and are serious about self-discovery.
Rating: Summary: The Title Says All....Listen! Review: I really enjoyed reading Dr. Rose's book and found it extremely beneficial in my life. Before reading it, I would consult others looking for the answers that lie deep within me. Now I muscle test my body to get my own answers. I found it helpful that Dr. Rose provided examples of his clients who were down in the dumps and how they transformed their lives into happiness and got what they wanted. It gives the reader hope that they too can heal themselves no matter how many demons they have locked away. I found it so easy to relate to Dr. Rose's experiences, because he allowed himself to be vulnerable by exposing his own insecurities. I felt very safe and trusted his words and guidance because he knows all to well what it truly feels like to be at the end of your rope. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to start feeling better about themselves and wants to find true happiness. Dr. Geoffrey Rose gives us the courage to go after our dreams and provides all the necessary tools to make them come true.
Rating: Summary: Practical Wisdom Review: It is hard to believe that after reading so many self-help books that I have actually found one with so much new to offer. Dr. Rose has a great handle on life's puzzle pieces, and is such a good writer, that I am finally starting to get (as he puts it) "a workable picture." Not only of why I feel the way I do about myself, but of what I can do about it.There is so much practical real-life wisdom offered here, that nearly every page gives me something to chew on. "When You Reach the End of Your Rope, Let Go!" is definately one of the best self-help books I have ever read (and now re-read).
Rating: Summary: Dr. Rose gets it! Review: What made this book special to me was that Dr. Rose obviously speaks from his heart and his own experience. He's been through it and came out the other end, so I feel I can trust his guidance. It was also a really enjoyable read which is the most important thing to me. The clever and intriguing chapter headings and references to film and other popular culture kept the book entertaining and fun. I would recommend this to all my friends, even those who aren't regular "self-help" readers.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Guide to Emotional Self-Healing Review: WHEN YOU REACH THE END OF YOUR ROPE... LET GO! brilliantly describes simple yet powerful methods you can use to locate and transform your self-sabotaging beliefs. With a rare combination of refreshing candor, sparkling humor and gentle wisdom, author Geoffrey Rose describes how he embarked on a most remarkable journey from anxiety, depression, and low self esteem to relaxed confidence and joy. While extensive training in psychotherapy sessions had offered useful insights, Geoffrey noted that progress had been slow... especially compared with the rapid improvement possible through an alternative method of finding self-sabotaging beliefs through Kinesiological (muscle) testing. Old traumas have the power to become negative beliefs about ourselves, so there is tremendous relief when we learn how to begin expressing long-suppressed thoughts and feelings. WHEN YOU REACH THE END OF YOUR ROPE... LET GO! provides a a very simple Kinesiological self-test which can be used with a self-testing outline to guide you through your self-healing treatment. If you'd prefer a different method, Rose offers two more: a Chinese Five-Element review, and a basic life category approach. WHEN YOU REACH THE END OF YOUR ROPE... LET GO! stands out as a beacon of hope in the darkness, to guide you through rough emotional seas. It's rare to find a book this well-written that successfully conveys practical methods for emotional self-healing that really work. This beautifully written book is as much fun to read as it is life-enhancing; I give it my highest recommendation! -- Cynthia Sue Larson author of "Aura Advantage: How the Colors in Your Aura Help You Attain What You Desire and Attract Success"
