Summary: Sadly...
Review: ...I've seen too much damage come out of the trumped-up ritual abuse hysteria of the '80s/'90s. Thank God (yes, I'm a Christian), that this mostly-imagined phenomenon is no longer "happening." This book, while well-intentioned, is not based in reality.

Summary: A Real MYTH BUSTER. Ritual Abuse Exists
Review: Everyone should have to read this book. Ritual abuse does happen and often, everywhere. This book should leave all sceptics with no doubts as to the extent of human evil. I work in the area and Chrystine's book has brought home the absolute strength that survivors have to come through alive and working towards healing. A tribute to all survivors and a wake-up call to the rest of society.

Summary: Sadly...
Review: I am a Ritual Abuse survivor with DID, and in all my searchings, I've never found a book as helpful as this for Survivors of Ritual Abuse, with or without DID. This book literally saved my life on more than one dark, painful night. I was so disappointed when I went to purchace a copy for my best friend, also an RA survivor, and found it was out-of-print. With so little literature available for the recovering RA survivor, I'm thrilled to see this is back in print!

Due to the wide variety of topics this book covers, along with checklists, short passages from other survivors relavant to the topics in each chapter, and the message of hope this book conveys, I think every RA survivor should own a copy! There's also an excellent list of 35 excellent questions to ask a potential therapist. What an incredible gift Chrystine Oksana has given us (RA survivors and the folks who love them) when she wrote this book. Thank you, Ms. Oksana!

Summary: RA's equivalent to "The Courage to Heal" by Bass & Davis
Review: I urge anyone who has just begun or who is already in therapy for ritual abuse issues to get this book. It was incredibly helpful to me as I started on my journey into recovery. I have continued to refer back to it for the last 4 years. One major positive of this book is the author's inclusion of the many different diagnoses we survivors may have. She does not strictly focus on those of us with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, ect. Rather, she uses the similar characteristics RA Survivors have, no matter what diagnosis they have. Chrystine Oksana has broken this book into different steps of recovery, such as beginning the journey of recovery, dealing with body memories and full memories, working towards a positive spiritual well-being, and the most important: Safety. If you are a Survivor, you know what a difficult issue safety can be. She has also filled this book with short quotes from survivors, both male and female, at different points of healing, people who wanted to share so that they could help others heal. While it is horrible for me to know that this has happened to so many other people, knowing that others have been able to reclaim their lives was a great source of hope for me.

This would also be a wonderful book for the Survivor's family, friends, or spouse. Ms. Oksana's incredibly gentle approach can make such a wonderful difference when helping someone you love heal from Ritual Abuse.

I would like to thank Chrystina Oksana for writing this book. I wonder if she knows how much she has helped a group of abuse Survivors with far too few resources. I only with the publisher would begin printing it again, as there are many more folks who need it.

Summary: THE REAL THING
Review: SRA does exist! I would have never dreamed this up. It is very disturbing when the flashbacks start, but it makes complete sense now. This book really saved my life. I love the way the author begins - by helping us not to feel crazy. It is a great suppliment to my own therapy and doesn't contradict the progress that I am making. This is a incredible book for therapists too giving them insight. Although there is not much out there regarding SRA, you wouldn't want any other book than this one. It doesn't go into stories. I have my own. It is a practical guide full of information that I need now. The author is a survivor of SRA and she also uses statements of advice from other SRA survivors. The concepts she discusses are to-the-point and extremely clear. The book is not filled with excessive wordiness and someone else's stories that tend to bog me down when I just need answers immediately. The chapters are short and organized well. The author stated that the reader could skip around and did not need to go through each chapter if not needed. However, I would recommend reading and learning even if you think you know about the subject. Looking at the index, the author covers every aspect of SRA. She is very careful not to point fingers at any group or religious sect. This is a great book that immediatley started making me feel better about myself. The author takes a sensitive approach. Her style is positve, uplifting and hopeful. I learned to trust in myself which is the most important skill I needed to learn about myself. In just a few minutes, I learned about the direction I needed to go and things I needed to stop doing. I know I will use this book as a guide for many years. Please understand, SRA is real and not dreamed up. If you have had SRA experiences or know someone who has had, please get this book and begin the healing.

Summary: Been there, and still here!
Review: This was a gift, in a time when I became ready to read and reach out to other suvivors. I am still alive and very strong, clear and grateful for this book, even after many years (later on) Safe Passage to Healing provided honest examples of how to cope.
Thank you Christina.
