Rating: Summary: A great gift for your daughter! Review: I had the pleasure of meeting the authors at a book signing. I have been trying to find ways to get my 19 yr. old daughter to take her safety a little more seriously. She is a college student living on campus and is at the age where she feels invincible. I bought this book for her in hopes that if she hears it from two police officers, she may pay more attention. She loved the book! She has told her friends about it and has even scoulded me a couple of times for the careless things I do. Thank you for giving me a few less sleepless nights.
Rating: Summary: Keep your money. Review: I was very disapointed when I read this book. It looked great, with a beautiful cover... Remember this old adage : "Don't judge a book by his cover "? It is true that this book offer great tips, but there are the kind of tips you already know (even if you know nothing in the field of self-defense). This book contains no more information that the free pamphlets you can find in your local police stations. Self-defense is a vital subject : don't waste your time (altough this book is read in twenty minutes...) with this one. There are many other book about this subject you can find, and believe me, better ones for sure.
Rating: Summary: Recommended for employee safety seminars Review: This purse-sized book emphasizes the fundamental safety practices that so many of today's women either never learned, or have somehow forgotten. As I read it, I was very thankful that the authors didn't try to create some goofy guerrilla warfare manual that tells how to use an emery board as a weapon! Instead, this book imparts the same, sound, common-sense advice that I try to teach my students in my own self-defense classes. The most common crimes against women can be avoided or averted with the basic, practical advice in this little guidebook.
