Summary: A Reason To Live
Review: "A Reason To Live" not only helped save my life, it set in motion several major - albeit, gradual - positive changes. Melody's personal life experiences and insights involving pain, loss and survival gave me some much needed assurance that I was not alone in this world. I admire Melody's strength and courage. I've learned I can actually use pain to become a deeper, more creative, honest and loving person. This book is non-judgemental, insightful, and ultra-practical. Please make more copies available. Thank you!

Summary: Helped me during some difficult times
Review: A REASON TO LIVE is aimed at helping those who are at "rock bottom." This book aims at giving those considering suicide a reason to hang on for just a little while longer until their perspective can change. An interesting thing about this book is that it points out how much strength and joy can be derived from even the most "mundane" things in life, like a walk along a lake, looking at a bed of flowers, or even just breathing deeply.

Having struggled with depression for much of my life, I have come to find that a great source of depression can be unrealistically high expectations and putting too much pressure on oneself. This book helps us to take the pressure off of ourselves, and it even provides compassion when we are at "rock bottom." There is so much stigma attached to considering suicide, and that in itself can make recovery from suicidal thoughts difficult. This book says that it's "okay" to be that sad, and then helps you change your perspective and be thankful for just the little things in life. I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a lot of strength at a time when I needed it most.

Summary: This book is the only reason I am alive today.
Review: When my boyfriend committed suicide I felt I wasn't worth sticking around for. This book changed that feeling. I was lucky it did. About 6 months after his death I found out it was murder made to look like a suicide.
