Summary: Moving and perceptive monologues
Review: In T-Cells and Sympathy, Michael Kearns gives us twenty or so characters whose lives have been touched by AIDS. The monologues are well-written, especially the (presumably) autobiographical monologue about a character named Michael, whose ex-lover is dying of AIDS at the same time his alcohol anonymous sponsor is dying.

Kearns has the gift of a sensitive intuition, which allows him to effectively explore these characters, many of whom are suffering. But the book certainly isn't all somber. Kearns also has a sense of humor which comes across in many of the pieces.

The monologues make for dynamic and dramatic audition pieces and it's nice to have material that not everybody has seen before. I highly recommend the book.
